Ideas for the season ahead

How about a new board, privately viewed by PRE members only and not to the public. A sort of... enter at your own risk, all comments open slather, no room for the faint hearted, all punches let loose, last man standing?
I know it sounds far fetched, but it could take away alot of the vitriol that gets posted after a shocking loss.

I see I am up for R1....you will have to wait about a week until we get back to Japan and proper PC access, and I force my wife to pull her English-typing finger out. Looking forward to it.

I'm thinking of a private vote each week where people can send me the names of someone they think has benefited PRE in a positive way.

So if a dud poster like craig doesn't post for a week, does that count as benefiting PRE in a positive way? ;)

If no one else volunteers, I can score the PREender of the year, sounds like fun.

As for the game score thread, it wouldn't HAVE to be a mod doing it, surely...if another poster created the thread, then locked it (or have a mod lock it) and just keep editing their original post. You can still do that in a locked thread, right?

I realise that, but say a person starts a thread, its then locked...can the person still edit their post? So instead of new posts being added, the original post itself is being modified, without anyone being able to add posts to the thread.

No sky, I'm pretty sure it's as I said and only admins and mods can post once a thread has been locked. Otherwise trolls could keep posting in their threads once they've been locked.

Rosy the afl and rfc website are so terrible and so far behind that PRE is the premium site for Tiger information, solid reports and of course plain vitriolic crap and absurd self indulgence.
Its a wildy variable site choca block full of informed characters and some of the saddest muck ever uttered.
I always enjoy it and like the relative freedom to be profound one time, and an absurd idiot the next time, (ok, maybe never that profound) .
Go tiges, go prenders.

PRE has always been the premium site. No other sites splits the molecule as many time as PRE does. Is there a special name for this?

how about something like claws cave. a place where people can go and have a go at each other.
instead of having a go on nu,merous threads like hayfever and my good self (i was right again) did just recently. i for one hate it when good footy content threads get hijacked. all posts that contain niggle and go of topic can be sent to the cave.
just an idea. of course abusive language racist comment etc is banned.i think the cave can be used as a means to stop threads being hijacked.we could even set it up with a proper debating scenario where posters pass judgement on a debate between two posters over a time frame. a sort of debating society.
anyway just some silly thoughts.
