attending our draw last night... you always expect to sit near at least 1 idiot but last night i was deeply annoyed firsly the crazy brisbane supporter who seemed to be in love with notting... but luckily he left at quarter time but then a man about 3 seats in front of me started and wat really annoyed me was he was a richmond supporter but did he support? i think not he found a problem with every single thing we did and boy did he hate jonson according to him "jonsons not a real captain" i agree jonson hasnt stared this season but thats going a bit far especially wen he played good last night. it just annoys me when you barrack for someone SHOW SUPPORT dont discourage. this man annoyed me so much because he was a richmond supporter i mean everybody expects a differnt clubd idiot to bag us out but one of our own, just disgraceful! >:(

I moved at half time for a couple of reasons, but first and foremost was a group of doctors behind me with their wives. They were absolutely clueless about everything.

Why did he do that?

He shouldn't kick it then, he should handball.

Why the hell did Kingsley just handball, he should have kicked it to a teammate. (Kingsley had just missed a mark in the pocket, and got tackled by 2 lions, with no tigers around him).

"We should just all barrack for Carlton, so we get the number one pick." Followed by, at least we can guarantee Carlton one more win, when they beat us again. (I had to knock the wind out of their sails with that one).

Then we moved down to level 1, and watched this guy continually punch the seats in front of him for the next quarter and a bit. At the end of the game, I saw a 10-12 year old boy copy this "mature" supporter, only he punched the hard part of the seat and I think broke his hand. He started crying and his mum took him home.

Wasn't much to cheer for last night, but jeebus, I agree. Supporting is much better than taking pot shots at our team.

I'm not surprised that some would have "lost it" last night after the performance we put in (especially to half time). Apart from the Geelong game, that was our worst performance for the year IMO.

Barrack how you choose - sure, but when it's anti-social and reduces or eliminates the enjoyment factor of others - I've seen more RFC supporters do this than the opposition - I don't get it???? One common thread - alcohol. I enjoy a beer at the footy - seems some just enjoy it more ;D

You want a real education - of all places - get into the MCC Members at the G for a Melbourne/Tigers game. Now that's fun................

well anyone else got the problem of the sore throat voice barley going at all.
I rekon the tigers are going to cause me a heart attack.

To another idiot, a Brisbane supporter who was drunk before he even got to the game, basically destroying everyone's Sat night with his language...you f..ken c..t umpire is not appropriate anywhere but when its shouted out around families and small children its beyond comprehension..and where was the security???

General,

I remember a few years back at the Dome at a Tigers/Cats game and ended up near a bunch of Geelong 'supporters'.

Not wearing anything to identify they supported Geelong....no scarf, no jumper, no beanie.....the only way I knew they were going for the Cats was when Ablett had the ball, and one bloke yelled "Go number 29!" as the others around him were looking at their Records to see who their players were! ::) :hihi

Hopeless!

I was having a drink earlier this season before that infamous Tigers/Cats game......and do Geelong have the oldest supporter base in the league, or what?
90% of their supporters had grey hair, I reckon....it really was staggering how old their supporters are.
And they're not really a passionate footy crowd.....many don't wear anything to say "I'm a Cat and proud of it!"....they travel to and from games, like they're going for a picnic somewhere.

Not being biased or anything, but our supporters/crowds kick arse when it comes to noise and passion at games.
Still not as passionate as soccer fans (especially some clubs in Europe), but we're getting there and are streets ahead of these comatose supporters of other clubs.

I tend to agree, our skills were even worse than usual at times. Doesn't say much for Brisbane does it.

yer thats not good , Like a few good ales at the footy, but even when you do support and go bit crazy at times and not even use words like that you can get the stare downs off people, and while i dont condone it espescially foul language round families and children at the end of the day it is a football match and not a sundasy church service.

You mean to tell me our supporters criticise our own players when some of them are clearly not AFL standard and continuously turn over the ball and make dumb decisions and frustrate the living crap out of the rest of us? That's just unacceptable.

Sometimes there is not much difference between what some of the idiots say at ground and what some people say here on the forums.

Was at the Dome Sat night, crowd around us was fairly OK. When the final siren went I was about to stand and yell, until I remembered it was only a draw. Still felt like standing and singing our song though. Couldn't believe it was only a 24.40 quarter. When someone behind us said only 6 seconds left, I looked at the clock and thought that he was only joking.
Was there again with Saints folk on Sunday night - you are right about Geelong supporters. They don't wear colours of any sort, they hardly know the players names, and think the sun shines from the Abletts rear end. They go berko whenever one of them are near the ball.

I think the majority of Richmond supporters are more knowledgeable than most others and can see good on both sides when it is deserved.

I find it hard to barrack. I want the team to do well. I vent my frustrations and sometimes those around me get upset. I try to curb my enthusiasm and most times I know when it is too much. However I think people should be able to vent/barrack/support in their own way as long as it doesn't go too far, such as foul language, not great, especially when there are kids about, and you get idiots that think it is OK to use such crass language I do not think that is appropriate. Then you get the ones that, like at the Carlton Adelaide game who go on and on about.... "Get out the wine and cheese.... Adelaide are beating the wooden spooners... this isn't a Preliminary final, Adelaide should be winning.... Get out the wine and cheese.... Adelaide are beating the wooden spooners... this isn't a Preliminary final, Adelaide should be winning.... " got old after the first run. I still don't know who the guy supported, no colours on I think he was just some d head in the crowd wanting to get a rise out of someone.
