Saw Butterss on TV tonight complaining about Cwood's easy draw...according to him they travel interstate 30% less times than any other club.

He is stating the obvious that has been a sticking point for many years. But the AFL just explain it away saying they a major drawing card & every team want to play them & so forth. Crap & unfair.

We won't be able to get a proper equalibrium till all clubs play each other twice & that will not happen under the current system. I hope in the next 4 years they have to play 5 interstate teams (2 Perth, Brisb, Sydney, Adel). Not been given the short trip each year to Adelx2. Watch the whinging begin then !!!
we wont get equalibrium till all clubs play twice.while we have 16 teams it wont happen under the current format. the closest thing to it is all clubs play each other 3 times in 2yrs with 22 and 23 game seasons.over 2 yrs all melb teams travel the same and get to play big clubs the same.the only sticking point would be the perth and adelaide clubs dont get to play each other twice every yr. the only club this would affect is port as the other perth adelaide teams draw full houses most weeks anyway.they might also whinge about having to travel the extra game every 2nd yr.

It's not really that close at all Claw. Obviously alot changes in two seasons.
Different team lists, different coaches etc.

Unless the premiership is decided once every two years I can't really see the point in this perspective.

The only truly fair way is to play each other twice in the same year H&A which would currently be 30 games.
As we know that's very unlikely to happen...

disagree take the derby this week for instance theres only 1 new face playing for either team and thats armstrong. every yr most clubs fill up with kids they dont really establish themselves for 2 or 3 yrs. look at us this week the only first yr players we are playing are howat and white.
im not saying its perfect but its certainly the the next best and is the fairest when it comes to travel and blockbusters.
