PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

I've been following the tiges for 40years through all of our ups and downs, and these days go to the footy wondering what the footy gods will bestow on us.

Yesterdays first have effort was good, and I know in the end the crows played better football thus deserved the win,BUT I had to walk from the ground midway through the last quarter after what Id call the softest free kick at the punt Road end Ive ever seen was awarded to them.

As I walked to my car I asked myself these questions:

1. If the Grand Final is the ultimate game and showcase for the year, then why not let the game flow like that with home and away games.

2. Nathan Brown's rundown of an opponent in the 3rd quater,a classic was not rewarded....WHY?

3. Why do umpires tend to give established "stars" leaway with decisions, yet youngsters and lesser players do not get this consideration. (Dean Bailey) mentioned that a cpl weeks ago his players had tackled opponenets who did 180 and 360 degree turns whilst being held for no reward.

I have no doubt they umpire on reputation NOT as the situation at the time requires.

4. If the players are confused is it any wonder the fans and guys like myself feel compelled to write to Jeff Gieschen as I will this week.

5. What guarrantee can he give to the fans that umpires do not bet on results.

Any other thoughts as to what i should ask I'd be happy to put to him,I wont be disrespectful to him and will request a reply. ???
