PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

there was a thread started a few weeks ago titled "Just get the damm season started." My response was the following:

nah, not in a huge rush just yet. it's a-league finals time and i'm making the trip to adelaide on saturday. i'm so excited... like a pig in sh!t!

looking back at that post, the a-league finals wasn't the only reason why i was in no rush for the season to start. i'm nervous, i'm very nervous about richmond this year.

we have been building a list for 5-6 years. most richmond supporters believe and expect that 2009 is the time to be a part of september action. this is supposed to be our time... the start of our window of opportunity. so what if it's not? how much more disappontment can us supporters take? we desperately don't want 2009 to be another failure.

if you believe in karma, we are owed big time. To the karma gods: Please let all our star players stay on the field. if we get a shot at goal to win the game, please allow the ball to go through for a goal instead of hitting the post. and if the ball is shepherded through by richo, please do not pay a fee kick against him. And finally, please give tw the will to drop mcmahon.

A lot of people on PRE talk about the glory days. Well guess what? a lot of us weren't around for those glory days. people like me grew up with the RFC being on the bottom and don't know anything different. when kevin muscat lifted the a-league trophy the other night, i shed a quiet tear because after all these years, i had finally witnessed a football team i follow win a grand final. but in the back of my mind was the RFC, hoping the day will eventually come for us...

Terry and the boys... please don't fail us this year.
