Dear Mrs Fevola,
Please excuse the naughty boys and girls here on PRE for calling your boy Brendon bad names and saying rude things about Carlton, and especially for making fun of him for not kicking 100 goals this season.
We are really sorry we made Brendon cry. We know how bad it feels to support a rubbish football team, at least we did last year, cause this year we weren't as rubbish as Carlton.
You know something? Our Captain did wee-wees too! Just like Brendon did! Except our Captain took a one week suspension and Brendon didn't. You must be so proud of him for sticking by his teammates and deciding to play. (Did he kick any goals that week?) I was so dissapointed that Brendon was let go from the leadership group, because I felt he was a perfect example of everything Carlton.
Carlton always bring out the best in their players, like "Diesel" Williams who used brown paper bags instead of plastic ones. That makes good environmental sense. John Elliott and Richard Pratt are great role models as well. Both have a win at all costs attitude that has been great for the Carlton Football Club, getting them to where they are today, beloved of all AFL fans and a shining light to the community. They really have been great mentors in helping Brendon become the kind, considerate, pacifist that he is. We are all very sorry if we have made any Carlton supporter or Brendon feel uncomfortable by laughing at him.
Please accept our heartfelt apology and look forward to Brendon and Carlton being as successful next year, on and off the field, as they were this past season.

Hawks had every right to make it as tough as necessary for Fev. If Carlton mids were targetting him to help him over the ton, Hawthorn should have been double or triple teaming him becuase he's the go-to player, not to stop him getting the 100.

A hundred goals is worth celebrating because it's a bloody tough thing to achieve. The opposition or umpires helping a player to get there only degrades it.

If a player can get there, good on him. If not, he shouldn't go around sooking and looking for help from the opposition.

Absolutely. I can't see how it's Clarkson's responsibility to let Fevola get his 100th goal. If it was the Tigers against Carlton, even in the last game of the season that meant nothing win or lose, and even if we were 10 goals up, I would be spewing if our coach made it easy for an opposition forward to kick his 100th goal, just for a "feel-good" finish. If he is good enough, he can get his 100 goals on his merits, not being gifted goals by the opposition.
