I'm wondering??

For most of the year, there have been loud calls for some players to be traded or de-listed. Mostly, Tivendale, Chaffey and Pettifer. There have been others as well, but these have been the ones, whose blood should be spilt.

Unless I have missed something, there have not been anything emanating from the club that even hints at these players getting the chop. In fact Pettifer received the Most Improved Player Award.

Could it be, that the powers that be, have decided to keep these 3 players for at least another year?

I wonder??

If they are going to be moved on, then cards are certainly being kept close to the chest.

Trade week is frenetic - anything can happen - remember last year when out of the blue Ray Hall was thrown into a deal at the last minute - which fell through! Miller and TW had to do a lot of consoling to get him back-on-side.

As sure as there is the proverbial in a cat there will be surprises again this year!

Makes for an interesting few weeks. There does seem to be a fair bit of positive talk regarding Pettifer's improvement (not before time), so I'd doubt he's a goner. Hard to guage where their heads are at re Chaffey and Tivendale. All I know is the core group still needs a fair whack of attention so I'm hopeful, for the sake of future success, that there will be a few shake ups.

The last thing I want to do, is start another  "Tivendale\Chaffey are hopeless" thread.

Was just surprised that nothing is forthcoming from the club as to who may be staying and who may move on. They are certainly playing their cards close to their chests. And whilst I am about it, apart from the "shudder," Fevola ruminations, have not seen much about out of contract players being interested in Richmond or vice versa. All quiet on the Western front at present. If the rumours of a financial hole still existing have any credence, then maybe we won't be seeking players from other clubs. Not all that much to enthuse about anyway.

Come trade week Grayflares, have no doubt that Miller and Wallace will be fitting Tivendale and Chaffey (and even Pettifer if necessary) into any deals that will advantage the RFC. Doesn't mean they will go - all but a few will be considered - just some more seriously than others
