If TW was consistent, based on stats, tackles, hardball gets, defensive pressure, turnovers etc., McMahon deserved to be dropped. Bowden was, why not McMahon? He is a serial offender.

Rance provided a perfect replacement.

For McMahon? Rance is a KPP and McMahon is a running player. We'd be to top heavy.

The new faces wont get a look in for the first 8 weeks next year as Wallet will be coaching for his own neck.

He will be drafting and trading for his own neck also this year i reckon, ive got a nervous feeling the Tigers senior list wont change by more than 4 players going into 09. (excluding rookies)

I am already of the belief that the RFC will not finish as high on the ladder as they did this year and my reasons for this are.

No real issues with the list will be addressed this year as Wallet does the minimum as he is once again overating a list which on the whole is quite ordinary without structure and depth.

And what will Craig Cameron be doing while Wallace apparently assumes List Manager duties according to you?

I would prefer to see him debut than Tiva farewelled.

Surely they can find a bench spot for him in the last game.
I actually agree with that and why is Tiva being farewelled when Andy Kellaway never got that?

I actually think that Rance will be in the starting 18 come rd1 in 09, I think barring injury Rance,Moore and Willy will be the talls and wont be surprised to see Lace-out get a gig up forward early in the year.

If Thursfild can regain his composure and awareness skills then Rance, Moore, Willy and McGuane with Bodwen as conductor sounds like the basis of a very good backline for the RFC.
Still think Schulz has a role in defence with his size and toughness. He should match up well each week.

Id like to see Lace out trucked off to Carlton or Collingwood for their second rounder, they are light on down back and maybe we could do a Fiora on them.

I reckon someone would go for it.

McGuane is surplus going forward.

Alternatively pack McGuane and Pattison off together in a package deal to GC 17 for some top picks ;D

Either way the RFC can and needs to do better than these types.

As much as I love our current back six. I would love to see Rance make a debut, he has played some fantastic footy all season and like Cartledge was should be rewarded. I would love to see him once before next year.

Good point about lace out CC, he was drafted as a forward & is really a very good kick for goal.
It was only a matter of necessity that he was thrust in to duty as a defender.
Imo he is a better prospect as a forward than the Steamer. He has a bit of mongrel in him, likes to take speckies, is quite willing to give second, & third efforts [Cleve is not so willing] & because he has played a lot in defence has learned a trick or 2 from that.
I would be very reluctant to let him go.
We are all crying out for players who are willing to put their body on the line for the club & when we get one someone, people want to p1$$ them off.

I used to think McGuane was useless, although he's shown something in the last month. He doesn't have much of a skill set, but he can certainly spoil and play man to man footy. On the other hand, Thursfield has been lackluster this season and hasn't had any standout performances. Thursfield got comprehensively beaten by Mark Johnson last week. With all of this said, Alex Rance shouldn't find it too hard to get a game in '09.

No he wont. It will be great to be able to rotate a number of young boys through the backline. I think once he is in he will manage to keep his spot for weeks. He will be able to take Sarge's spot there when he goes forward.
