That's good news. Hopefully be right to play at least half of the season and gain some form in order to have a real crack in 2008, as it seems to take most players a couple of seasons to get it right after a knee.

Thirsty been such an athlete may well not miss that much of next season. In the last Pre season he missed a lot of the hard training an was still able to run with Reiwoldt after very few praccy matches.

Last I heard everyone was pretty much right to start Pre season training on time except for the obvious rehab guys who were all well on track for round 1 returns

Cheers Andy and CC. great news re Thursty but must temper expectations.
CC any word on how some of the other guys are coming along?
Newmo & Cogs in particular.

Last thing I heard on those too were that Newy was uncomparable to Browny he was so far advanced on him an would not miss a lot of full training in the pre season an Cogs had a little bit of extra work done when he had the reco an was coming along well an was a chance to play round 1.I must say ToO my info on the senior core is not as up to date as the young guys but im pretty sure the long term injury guys have been doing plenty of work for a while in rehab

WHAT? You're not up to date? Well pull the finger out son, you're getting a bit slack these days CC.

And one other thing, pre-season is just around the corner, don't forget the grease & oil, notepad, and a sharp pencil.

Newman will return in better shape than Brown because of the difference in fractures.

Browny suffered what is known as a spiral fracture in which the force spirals through the bone breaking it in a shape like a corkscrew hence more unstable and requisite of more extensive traction and reinforcement for healing which leaves a very weak shaft of bone due to surface area and greater structural damage.

Newy on the other hand suffered a linear or clean break which was isolated to one region hence easier to reinforce and plate allowing for quicker healing time and much better localised bone strength.

While Newy may be a little slow outta the blocks he will reurn in better shape than Browny.

Brownies fracture was a near career ender make no mistake. ;)
