Good work Disco.

Have you had a look at Tivendales work against Sydney, not his best, in fact it is his worst, I doubt they would be interested.

While not as big a detractor on Pet as many, but I agree this is the year to trade him, it won't get any better from here and by the time 2011 comes he is 29 and finished. Lids looks like he can fill that hole more than admirably.
Go easy Bill at 29 Petts would still have three or four years as a flanker, as for Lids HFF!!!!!!! Gotta be kidding me he's way to good for that.

Does Pets play HFF? He comes from deep int he forward line and moves up the ground. Pretty similar to what Lids has done for the last month but with more success. I like Lids as a leading forward, great lead, good kick, and fantastic hands. I will go out on a limb and suggest he could be a 50 goal forward next year and pinch hit on the ball or HB when support or pace is needed.

As many on here keep mentioing, Petts apparently doesn't have any defensive skills.
So if he was to stand on the tip of the centre square as was done in 1975, he would be exploited with his man running off him through the middle to either set up or kick a goal. Petts is playing as a link/ goal kicker, as you suggested. He actually reads the play quite well. He may not stand where HFF is on the whiteboard but he is playing the role of a HFF.

upgrade: king
retire; knoble gaspar hall kingsley

trade; krakeour - for B Moran

delist: p.bowden, hartigan, hyde tivvers

Draft ; cotchin
Full back
ruck
mid
mid
scotty meyers

PSD; best available

rookie: best available

Ok i'll have a go

Retired: Knoble, Kingsley, Hall, Gaspar
Delisted: Hartigan, Krakouer, Moore (optional), Howatt (not on list)
Upgraded: King

Traded: Pettifer and pick 35 for St Kilda pick 9
Pick 51 for M Johnson
schulz for Bulldogs pick 22

As Disco said getting the Saints deal done will be tough
Prolly the schulz one will be to
Oh well can only dream

Draft Picks: 2, 9, 18, 19, 22, 67 (optional - could get a player from coburg or keep Moore on the list)
PSD pick: 1 (Moran)
Rookie Draft pick: 1, 17

ND
2 Cotchin
9 McEvoy or Rance (prolly Rance as he is more likely to be around at this pick)
18, 19, 22 i'll leave to Francis :hihi

So
In: King, Moran, M Johnson, 2, 9, 18, 19, 22, 67 optional
Out: Knoble, Kingsley, Hall, Gaspar, Hartigan, Krakouer, schulz, Pettifer, Moore optional

Thoughts?

Edit
BTW the reasoning for M Johnson is that he would be cheap, add some hardness and agression, and will be able to (and will) protect the kids - which is the most important reason (not too fussed if we didn't trade for him)

That would be a great result. Getting a good ruckman with our PSD pick and getting at least 2 quality key position players in the first two rounds are essential IMO. Add to that Cotchin (or Ebert maybe) as the cream midfielder and another inside mid prospect and the list starts to look better.

yeah we could use pick 22 on a forward kpp to replace *smile* (ie. Goudis if he is available)

with picks 18 and 19 we could get another good mid (hopefully big bodied like Selwood) and a ruck/kpp

You cant let go of Pettifer!

Dont do too much much homeowrk in the draft, we will draft a young ruckman, but. we will trade for a new ruckman also. We need an experienced ruckman

Why not?
He has good trade value now and will not get much better
I am happy if he stays it is just that this is one postion that we can fill easily (Brown, Hyde, Lids, Bling, Meyer even) and Petts is one of the only players in our team with any currency.

Gaspar, Knobel Hall and Kingsley gone already. Thats 4 talls required already when the list actually needs 6 or 7.

Moore, Hartigan, Krakouer and Hyde to join them is my guess.

How P Bowden, Tivendale and Schulz will stay is a disgrace also.

Graham and Howat should not be elevated they dont deserve it and will cost 2 draft picks unless 8 or more are cut which Wallet will not do.
you are insane

I will have a go too

Retired : gaspar, Hall, Knoble, Kingsley
Delisted : Moore, Krakouer, Howat, Hartigan
Trades : Meyer to Adelaide for Meeson. We need another ruck
JON to Fremantle for Ryan Murphy
Hyde to Sydney for 3rd round pick
Pettifer and 35 pick to St Kilda for pick 9

Draft : Pick 2 : Cotchin/Kruezer
Pick 9 : Mc Evoy,Ruck / Rance,Kpd / Henderson, Kpf
Pick 18 : S.Selwood,Mid / Pears,Kpd / S.Simpson, Kpf
Pick 19 : Veszpremi,mid / D.Simpson, Ruck / Maric,fp or any above
Pick 40ish Sydney pick W.Sullivan, ruck / Dangerfield, mid
Pick 51 : Renton, Ruck / Z.Murpy, mid
Rookie upgrades : King
Rookie List : Graham and Klingan
Vets List : Richardson

Psd Haselby, adds to some class to midfield aslong as body right, if not get another ruck or best we can.

Rookie : Mainly kpp and ruck and a rover

hp i think you have 12 going and only 9 coming in (10 if you count King being upgraded)?

good work though

Bit of a rush job not as quick with the stats as some guys, 3 left for rookie selections, tried to leave a little flexability in the picks.

Out - Gaspar, Hall, Knoble, Kingsley, Moore, Krakouer, Hartigan, Meyer, Oakley-Nicholls, Hyde, Pettifer, Howat (rookie)

In - Meeson, R. Murphy, Hasleby, Cotchin, Rance, Simpson, Veszpremi, Sullivan, Z. Murphy, King (assuming?)

11 out, 10 in I make it. Looks good too.

Very nice disco, we finished bottom we need to cut deep why we are down the bottom atleast 8 have to go and 2 trades would be good.

Have a crack at what we do come season's end. Winner gets massive prize.

Have a crack at what we do come season's end.

H.B Casserley Moran McGuane

C Newman Polo Edwards

HF Richardson Polak Brown

FF Deledio Simmonds Riewoldt

Rucks Meesan Masten Foley

INT McGinnity JON (This boy will make it. Watch and see. Love him. Aggressive aboriginal is hard to come by). Tambling Pattison

EMG Meyer Connors Hobbs

So therefore:

Pettifer, Schulz, Tuck, Johnson, Hughes, Hyde, both Bowden’s, Krak, Tivendale, Howat, Hartigan and Coughlan should be swapped around or let go.

Draft Picks:

2 Kruezer / Masten / Cotchin (3rd choice) (No Morton / No Palmer)

18 P. McGinnity

19 R. Hobbs

35 J. Silvestor

51 J. Venturini
67 (Ruckmen) D. Putt ?

PSD: Moran

• Notes congratulations to Wallace for tanking this year. Did not think his ego would have handled it. Great stuff.

(Trades) Schulz for Meesan

• Plus the aforementioned and we have a good side coming through. A better side than I thought we would. The players who we can let go have value for the first time in recent memory.

ROOKIES:

Searl (North Ballarat)

Gazzo (Coburg)

P.S Hughes and Howat are very soft. Watch closely. Should be traded or let go.
