At this time of the year, when others are buying finals tickets, it falls to the Richmond faithful the ritual picking over of the bones. A quick tally of the boards suggests we need to delist 20 players and trade another 10. Clearly it is not possible to sensibly replace that many through trading and drafting.
I therefor challenge all the budding recruiting managers here to propose a preferred list of retirements, delistings and trades and matching list of draft picks, trades and rookies to maintain list numbers.
No being a budding Manager Recruiting myself I won't try but I will say that I think anything less than 5-6 per year on average is courting long term list disaster and anything more than 9 is extremely difficult to replace in any given year without taking very speculative draft picks.
