Re: When Should Jack Reiwoldt Debut?

Don't worry about his attitude, all the signs were pointing towards him playing against the Bombers and I am sure Jack knew this. Terry would have told him "I'm going to float your name in the media this week then you'll play next week". A poster who claims to know Jack's g/f has said a couple of times things he's heard about him (including him not playing when the media said he would play 3 weeks ago) and he said Jack was told he will play against Essendon. That's nothing to base an opinion on just a small thing. The whole concept of hyping up Jack is Wallace's way of giving us HOPE and we are meant to say to ourselves "What? Why didn't they select him! Bring him in he's a gun!". It's a distraction and something for us to really look forward to.

He wouldn't wanna debut in Adelaide anyway, everyone remembers their first game and quality players like Riewoldt can get a game whenever they want, hence the big crowd at the MCG against a big club.

In 10 years you'll hear him saying "I remember the first time I walked onto an AFL ground... the roar from the Tiger army still rings in my ears today!"

This weeks author is someone who didn't hold back ;D. Tigerforever06, congratulations.

The last line of this I highlighted because for some reason, it didn't show up in the paper. That's right, you have the unedited, uncensored version right here. :)

Mass Sifies

How can people sit here and be even minutley satisified with last night
« on: June 03, 2007, 12:45:00 pm »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I ask this question because of some ridiculous posts discussing last night in a positive fashion.

We are an atrocious football team. No doubt many will sit there and scream FERAL or BANDWAGONER but I dont care I will tell it how it is. Anyone who watched the game last night could only conclude 2 things

1. Our players have no brains. What sensible rational thinking footballer gets the ball looks up turns around runs into trouble and then handballs to a teamate under equal pressure

2. Our players have brains but are tanking.

Our movement of the ball is disgraceful. Our skills are a joke. There is no spark in the team, no one runs around puffing their chest out and firing the boys up. When we have the ball at half back the players up the ground dont bother running hard to provide options, they amble along, making it even more difficult for the ball carrier. It's partly the fault of our mids and forwards that our defenders have nothing to kick to EVER.

We are a long long long way off the competition bench marks. Not only that, an equivalent team like Carlton is a 25-40% better team then we are.

We are shocking

I've just stumbled across this thread. So what's the deal? Does IF publish 1 post out of PRE each week?

I'm starting to get the feel that Inside Footy may be looking for decidedly negative posts to publish.

It only degrades the integrity of Inside Footy.

C'mon Holmesby, lift your game.

Mind you, we at Mackie have always had a :thumbdown for most at Bentleigh ANA.
Holmesby is just another of those pathetic losers.

IF publish a post from a few fan forums, usually each week. We aren't always featured though.

I think you'll find holmesby doesn't like Richmond much, judging from things he writes up about us.

Finally. After many weeks banished into the twilight zone, IF have decided to print something from here. I hope it wasn't something that was said about you guys russell? ;D

Congrats to TT33 on the following words of wisdom.

Was quite happy with DC's debut, at least when he had the ball he looked for a teammate & mainly hit his target.
A lot of posters on here want these young blokes to be given a go & when they get a game they aren't happy. "will succumb to mediocrity" etc. If you want to be negative do it to the guys who deserve it, not a kid in his first game.
I liked the fact that he stood up to Hall & others, it's about Bl**@y time someone did. It was good to see that sort of aggression from a Tigers player. Hall & the likes for too long have been able to push our player around with immunity.

Unbelievable. After 2 months of being ignored, we make it the Grand Final edition of all weeks. And with a Richmond flavour, well, sort of ;D.
Congratulations GoodOne :clap

19 hit outs and not one when to the advantage of his side.

Kicked 1.3

Some things never change.

Hmm. I agree, his ruck tapping wasn't that great, although he did beat Lade in tapouts. And yes he did kick 1.3, seemd to be kicking across the line (one went over the goal post). But let's temper an argument with the rest of his stats. He actually managed 10 contested possesions, the second highest for Geelong, 2 assists that resulted in goals, 8 marks (4 contested) and even 3 tackles. I think it slightly ironic that last week, after Ottens superb performance, the comment was that he didn't have any opposition, and wait till this week when he plays against a quality ruckman in Lade. Well Ottens clearly outpointed Lade, who managed less tap outs, 4 marks (2 contested), 1 tackle, only 4 contested possessions and lo and behold did not trouble the scoreboard. Clearly Ottens won his position and won it well.

It's just a pity that some choose to wallow in the past, a number were calling for him to be moved on, and now that he has, and has won a premiership, they choose to use this bias to judge his performance. Give him credit for what he has achieved this year. He's not the best ruckman in the league, but he's a quality player.

Well done Otto, you now have what the rest of us can only dream of. You are now a member of the team that has the biggest winning grand final margin ever. Enjoy.

The part I highlighted at the end wasn't included in the quote in the paper.

Good onya Good One :clap

Thanks for the updates throughout the season Legends. :clap

Why would they leave that out? Space?

I only buy this once a year when the draft info goes in.

Don't know why. They've done it a few times. Doubt it would be for space as there is plenty left in the column.

Looks like IF will be out about once a month until pre-season starts, so come on guys, we need more quality posts. If not, then we'll settle for controversial ones ;D

I wonder if the fact I've done 5 billion posts and IF have never chosen one of them is telling us something. :rofl
