PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Hi all. I buy Inside Football every week, even though it isn't totally about the Tigers. I, like a few others, have noticed that PRE gets mentioned often. So I thought I'd start a thread for whenever PRE gets a mention. I know Crackers mentioned a few weeks ago about PRE efforts in raising funds to get a rookie. A few get mentioned on the outer limits column, which for those that don't know, basically picks a post from a few fan sites such as this.
This weeks author is....Struggletown. Well done :clap

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At some games I get a little cynical about the sense of occasion at a match because it feels like two 'franchises' playing a game, because there's no real home or away among the Melbourne sides, mainly because 9 sides share 2 grounds.
However the atmosphere paticularly during the 2nd half generated among the Richmond fans was superb. It was as loud as anything the Lions had been able to muster all night, and way more passionate.
It sounded a hell of a lot louder at the ground than what the replay did on TV.
We had thousands of Tigers fans celebrating after the match up on the seats belting out the song and whooping up the occasion.
It felt as good as it did when I lived in London following my adopted soccer side away and the rowdy songs and celebrations that went with a win.
Outside the ground and in the few...........Ok,many pubs myself and crew went to were again dominated by delirious Tiges fans singing the song and having a ball.
It certainly was a win and week(end) away to remember.
Im not getting carried away with our chances, facts are we were dire against an equally terrible Lions for the first half and the skill level is still waaaaay below par to be a top side. However my enthusiasm has been rekindled by a top 2nd half effort and the pride in the fans at the game for their support.
There were heaps of us just to the left of the Lions bench all going banannas along with loads of others in clumps around the stadium.
Kudos to all the players that ran over to applaud us after the game, esp Lids and Rainsey who seemed as animated as us!!
Im already looking forward to going up to Sydney, and will be booking every trip to Brisbane I possibly can in the future.(This was my 2nd trip for 1 win 1 loss)
Id encourage anyone whos been tossing up to make a trip up to do so,they truly are treasured wins."

I hope I've done this right. I'll try and keep it up to date but feel free to beat me to it if you like.
