Westy my man your on the money again, but didn't he really say that things would start to turn in 2009, but 2011 was when we should be at a level to sustain that success.

He said on Casey Radio at half time of the Coburg game that he didn't believe trading away picks for short term success was the answer and still believes we have to develop our own.

Look at most of the successful Victorian teams now, Geelong, Collingwood, etc most of these teams have had there current coaches in place for 6-7 yrs and the reality is that they all started with a list that was well ahead of what Wallace was left to mould into a successful football club.

It was interesting to read that "We had 12 guys (who had played) under 50 games. We had nine guys who
had never played on the SCG prior."

Pretty damning statement in itself really.

I also think a lot of forget that guys like Raines are yet to reach 50 game. I know I did.

Given that you combine this will the fact that you'd think many of our senior players had also played less than 50 games its a worry. No midfield without Foley. I seriously don't think the opposition worry to much about guys like Tuck because they know that even if he gets it you have probably greater than 50% chance he will give it straight back.

For me the serious worry is who do we have to replace these non performers. Fact is we don't have anyone at the moment.

Everything you say is true gus but unfortunately things look dire for next season as well unless a miracle happens.
If things continue as they are next season, Wallace may well be right about 2011 but he won't be there to reap the benefits.

Doesn't really worry me whose name is in the box as long as someone is reaping the benefits.

We could always appoint, Connelly as he will probably be the only one still looking for a Job about then......

The coaching reshuffle this year may make pickings very thin at the end of next year even if things haven't improved dramatically.

The old story of becareful what you wish for I suppose.

you guys are joking right?

lions no leadership?????

Voss, Black, power, Bradshaw, Michael, Brown, Akermanis - all showed leadership on the field

We were referring to the time when Voss and Black etc were kids. Brisbane were a terrible team then.
