International Rules -lets get serious!!!!

anybody read the letter that was at the back of today's age sport section?

couldnt agree more, amazing how some of the AFL gusy grew balls when they played against a much smaller team that doesnt have the hard hits in the game like we do. nick davis tried to lay a hard tackle, NICK DAVIS!

Guess its lucky for the Irish that we only had a small skilled and pacy side this year instead of a team full of big ugly hard nuts.

I decided to go last Friday to the StKilda Dome and all I can say is:

1.  This game is nothing but a yawn confirmed by idiots running on the ground and the boring mexican wave.
2.  Some Aussie players were nothing but ego-minded showoffs especially Johnson who has a head bigger
     than an elephant.
3.  Sheedy is an absolute twit for using wasting Delo as a 'tagger'!!!!!!!
4.  My only interest was watching Delo and Newie running around hoping they'd kick a 6-pointer.

Thank god they both came out with no injury.
Thought the Delo and Daley show was just remembered by old farts like me,
if you were talking about Deledio. Why not call him Lids like everyone else?
Why would Sheeds be a twit for making sure that Lids played an accountable game?
Would seem like a bloody good idea to help round the kid out.
I only got to watch a tape of the game after I new the result and still enjoyed the game.
Definately think the admin needs to make the players more accountable for some of the aggro though.
If we have finally got smart enough to pick a specialist side for pace and skill then we don't really need to use as much argy as we used.
From memory the Irish used to penalise their players fairly severely for going the biff and our guys would get off with a reprimand.

In our games, try yelling out DELO !!!!!!! compared to LIDS!!!!!! and you'll hear the difference.

Lids sounds to 'pansy'.

come on guys, lets just call him god :hihi

this concept is a joke. always will be, i wish it was scrapped. still can't get over the fact richmond let deledio play.

Jesus, mary and st.joseph.....the irish having a whinge about rough play....that,s like the french calling the yanks arrogant....very funny i reckon,I thought they were the ones talking up the rough stuff before the games! ;D ;D ;D

im in ireland at the moment and they are all sooking about the aussies, are they weak or was it not good by the aussies?
Not good by the Aussies.Ireland have every reason to moan.

What happened Anduril?  My daugther didn't say anything and only completed about 1/3 of the exam. Thankfully maths is her weakest subject so she only gets a small % of the score anyway, but a small % of 0 isn't much.  Thankfully she got A+'s and A's for all of her SACs, and thought the first maths exam was ok,  so it should help her get a reasonable mark overall.

one last thopught our team was mostly a team full of wimps and soft *smile* god help the irish if we ever put some big fast hard nuts on the park.

You obviously didn't watch the games claw, Petts and Krak were not playing it was Lids and Newmo :doh :ner

I cant believe all the whingers and moaners about the violence in this game!

Professional sport is full of violence, look at every major game internationaly and you will see the occassional biffo, mild and severe. Even boxing is a big sport, is the violence shown there any different ?

Unbelievable. ::)

TE boxing is the only sport I can think of where the aim is to inflict brain damage, it's hardly a relevant comparison.  People participate in it knowing the rules and danger.

Some professional sport is quite "violent"  Aussie Rules is a good example but there are still rules to be followed to protect people's safety.

Gaelic footy, or whatever it's called, similar to soccer has rules that prevent the kind of hard contact we have in Aussie Rules.

There are always going to be issues when a hybrid game is developed introducing hard contact to players not used to it.

The problem is Aussie Rules and Irish football are very different games.  I can take IR or leave it...if the Irish can't take it they should leave it.  If the Aussies overstep the rules they should pay a price to prevent it happening in future.

I think the Irish are being a tad sooky just the same. They don't complain quite so much when they win. ;)

Clearly the Irish are only hard when it involves bullets to the back of the head. In this case they are soft as *smile* whingers.
