Appologies if a simillar thread already exists, but it would be good to get some updates on the guys.

Anyone?

Cogs going well has been in Perth ,hopes to be running after 3 months, best case senario back in 9 months worse case 12 months, of course without anything unforseen.Did say it wasnt quite as simple as op as everyone thought an from experience is ready for the hard work ahead of him.
Will ive been told is really starting to come on well after sucha bad injury I did see him the other day and didnt appear to be limping much at all if any.
Newy good as could be expected I heard on the grapevine

If I had a choice of injury for a star, I'd pick Brown's or Newman's. They come up better and a bit sooner IMO.

Last choice woud be Thursfield's.

Don't get sucked in by the hype, reports, rumours. Only two days ago I read of someone slotting Thursfield into a starting lineup for 2007. Would be a miracle. Diabolical injury.

i don't claim to be a medical expert, but didn't richo do his knee in a similar fashion? (tearing all 3 knee ligaments?) he came back bigger and better after 11 months. correctly if i'm wrong, but wouldn't tearing all 3 ligaments make your knee stronger in the long run?

Richo's was less than 11 months

He injured it in round 7.
Played the full pre season the next year.
Was more like 9 months

From memory it was thought Richo's was far worse than Tony Free's yet Free was the one who didn't recover. The full extent of the injury, or the damage it has done to the player can really only be fully assessed after the player has returned to playing.

Joel Smith's knee was described as one of the more serious knee injuries and he came back pretty well to become an AA player for the hawks. But I think he took at least two seasons to get back to his best so wouldn't expect too much from Will next year. Maybe second half of the season to resume before a full pre-season and full comeback in 2008.
