Ireland calling - but which club is not in the loop - apparently?

Don't take this personal but maybe you suffer from paranoia.

What do ya mean geoffry. Everything seems quite normal around here. What's that! Shoosh, Go away,
Sorry where was I, That's right.
No everything's fine at my end

Remember, just because you're not paranoid, it doesn't mean that they're not out to get you.

Back on topic, I noticed that our name wasn't on the list of clubs, but agree that we could benefit from getting things right here. In the past we've had enough trouble getting first and second round picks right, so worrying about speculative Irishmen would be low on our list of priorities.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing the first South African running around for the Tigers on a wing. That would be fun.

It is always astonishing how well the young Irish players pick up the skills required for the game... Clarke with Collingwood and Kennelley for Sydney are prime examples.

Go back to when Melbourne first brought Stynes over - it took him a number of years before he was able to use a football well enough to play in a senior Melbourne side.

The fact that these players are able to develop the skills - and already have the aerobic capacity to keep up with the game (though perhaps not the muscle) means greater expansion into Ireland was inevitable with the growing wealth of the game.

That said - watch out for the GAA to begin creating measures to make it more and more difficult for the AFL to poach it's best and brightest.

Yeah Interested, Their skills and endurance are unbelievable.
I think if they're showing any sort of skill by their teens in the GAA, one of the AFL clubs chuck 'em an Aussie Rules ball and says, kick this around for the next few years and turn them into project players.
There's probably 10 for every one that never see their way over here for a trial though.

I would prefer to employ more people to have this whole country covered including Aboriginal kids in the NT who are hidden away in local leagues
