Well he's only been playing 6 months. Pretty good debut I'd say.

I agree Ian, it's amazing.
To pick up 20 AFL possessions(mostly quality) when you've only just started using an oval shaped ball for less than a year is remarkable. Doesn't matter who you play for..

funnily enough I bought up this topic either last year or 2 years back and got pretty short shift from the people in the know here.

having lived in the land of Guinness, leprechauns and BSA's for 6 years, I saw the talent the Murphs had in GAA(y) every weekend. Not hard to see that some of them could and will be stars in the making in AFL circles.....

Now I'm in Moscow maybe we could look at recruiting an Ivan Drago type....would make a decent ruckman or maybe in an under midfielder!!

Would be particularly funny seeing some ex-soviet crazy holding say Travis Cloke by the throat saying 'I must break you....'

I said in another thread that the future ideal player will not only be quicker and have more running endurance (as per TW's beliefs) but will also IMHO be a similar physical type to the way other professional sports are going ie taller and bigger body mass while still having speed, agility and endurance (think basketballers like the American pros with minimum height of 6'8").

South Africa would be a prime area for these types, when you think about the dominance of the African distance runners and the influx of Africans into soccer.

God, the thought of a Zulu warrior at CHF makes me drool.

There's a clip of him from a VFL game where he flicks the ball up to himself with his feet at full tilt so that he didn't have to bend down and pick it up.

Very classy.
