Is anyone worried about losing fans?

We like to distance ourselves from the fringe supporters when we talk passion, but once we talk about the "sleeping giant" we proudly boast one of the largest supporter bases in the country.

It is these fringe supporter who I worry about.

They think we're about to get a superstar in Cousins, then for some reason we don't.

Aw geez, typical Richmond, ah well, can't wait to see Judd line-up next year...

Richmond fans can be happy, sad, annoyed, p!ssed off, over the moon or any other emotion regarding the Cousins decision (or the last 25 years for that matter) but statistics show we will keep coming back for more.

Record memberships and match attendences don't lie.

We are a special breed.

Statistics over the last 20 years show we keep coming back... but if we make the finals twice in the next 20 years then I would expect us to lose a large portion of our supporter base.

I've also heard that Gourdis (assuming he's our pick) can still make it to our list if we pick Cuz (can anyone clarify this?)

Rexxy, The only way I can think of is, if we take Cuz at PSD 6, then all clubs in the Rookie Draft pass on him until our first pick, then Polly is put on the Long term Injury List and Gourdis is elevated.

I have read somewhere that Freo is keen on Gourdis as its first pick of the Rookie Draft is he is available - true or not I don;t know.

The hitch i think is Richmond's apparent commitment to re-draft Gourdis who didn't register in the ND to allow him to be picked up in PSD if he got his act together (some off field issues - again true or not I don;t know for sure).

Don't forget a few weeks ago many an AFL club supporter was threatening to not renew memberships if BC was drafted by their club...

That being said the guy would be the bargain of the century if we get 50% of his past performance out of him!

If we used pick 70 on ruckman that went to Brisbane at pick 69, then Gourdis wouldn't be an option unless Polak move got through.

pharace I don't think that had anything to do with it. If you remember we were going to use pick 70 until the lions pick at 69 and if that happened no pick in the PSD. I think the club was always only going to rookie David.

Interesting! I don;t see 50% at 30 years of age with questionable hammies and thumbing of the nose at authorities as enough. Footy is too competitive to allow that!

You could be right, but, there were further delisting opportunities post ND - that simply became unnecessary - until the Ben Cousins circus rolled into Richmondtown for its last showing.
