Is Eade doing a Spud and looking for the Quick Fix

The doggies have a fair bit of talent stock. I wouldnt mind Cooney and Griffen coming to the tigers as well >:D

Griffen was very disappointing this year. Had a few injuries but didn't perform anywher near the level he did the previous year.

In Griffen's defence he did dislocate his kneecap & did some other damage to his knee at the same time, midway thru the year.

Sounds like a candidate for the soft thread to me :)

So KB was right in not giving him 4 votes behind Lids for the Rising Star. Who says KB didn't have a soft spot for his old club back then.

Eade flicked a skinny flanker and topped up with a high second round draft choice, one of the best inside rucks in the game and a much needed foil for the aging and over-loaded Brad Johnson.

(Callan is chump change for the purposes of the exercise and getting rid of Power was a bonus - dud.)

NB each of the experienced players Footscray targeted can play. They won't be hidden by playing loose on the backline. They play real positions on a football ground. And the cost, in terms of draft currency, was negligible. If you consider the McMahon trade they finished in front. (Did we finish in front?)

It's a fix. And provided they can get the experienced players on the park it'll be quick. Will it be enough to win a premiership? Nup. So it's not a spud-like delusion.

Would they have been better off taking an all youth approach? Well, they won't be around to find out if they can't win games.

Had a good trade period/PSD IMO.
