Is it unreasonable to expect the players to put in the effort required to play 4 quarters?
No it isn't. It is what they are paid alot of money to do. Infact, the money should be a bonus for them.
Having been to all home games and the Doggies game I am staggered to continually see periods of determination and effort (bar the Carlton game) just fall away because it gets too hard.
We as supporters spend far too much time making excuses for the players and the club. How on earth can you expect the team to put the game first when they are apporaching the coach and asking for his resignation. Wallace should have been asking for thiers as they, as a group, have failed to meet any KPI's this year. If any of us performed as poorly in the real world we would be unemployed.
Criticism of our players can take forever. Every player on our list has a weakness and area they need to improve. Just like 95% of all players in the AFL.
What we need is a playing group that is united and 100% committed to the effort required to win. They should be absolutely stuffed at the end of a game, win or lose. All this, they are gutted and shattered is absolute crap.
They are so full of themselves it staggers me.
Hawthorn won the flag last year because they wanted it more than anyone else. They were prepared to do whatever it takes to win, every week. No excuses, no sooking.
When we can do what Hawthorn did last year for more than a quarter we will win games, even with Connors, Collins, King etc.
I am taking the Doggies game off this time around. I need a break!
