Purely my opinion but I can't see why Jack has been routinely praised as our 'great white hope'...and shown / delivered not very much?

Cult Figure Syndrome?

I remember Justin Plapp suffered from the very same thing - a great player in the 2's but couldn't cut the mustard in the real stuff.
