I was making myself a chamomile tea and heard his deep voice from the kitchen. He can say what he likes and I don't care what he thinks. I was thinking while I added some honey into the tea that it doesn't become another Tigers/Hawks debate/comparison. The last thing I want in 4 years time is the Kangaroos winning a premiership and Tigers languishing down the bottom, again.

I think it's rubbish anyway.
We've got 6 who are really old & 4 or 5 of them will depart at years end anyway.

Outside of that it's a pretty young list.

I think our list will go from one of the oldest to youngest in one year we have 6 old blokes & heaps of young guys not a lot in between which the media is overlooking they just always focus on Richardson Bowden Brown Cousins Simmonds & Johnson who is already gone Cousins was the only one who played last round & we won who would have thought also think we beat North without Johnson Richo got injured early Cousins was out not sure if Brown played either?

The media just make it up to suit there particular slant. Wouldn't suit to give TW any excuses why we are not performing and revealing that the majority of our list is under 23 yet have been given plenty of game time would certainly not fit their 'feeding frenzy' agenda.

Now that Terry is gone that may actually start to be more objective and stick to facts. When we get a new coach at the end of the year and 'hope springs eternal' thats when the media will focus on how young and promising our list is.

Lift the tigers up so they have further to fall - a proven formula for paper sales for decades. All just a game with the media playing follow the leader.

Our list has the core of a great side. We just need a clean out, some inspired early draft choices and for fools like Walls to stay away and we may have a chance for a prolonged period of media success :spin

I wonder how the clubs stack up on median age? In statistical sets that are often unnaturally skewed at one end or the other (e.g. Richo, Harvey), the median, as opposed to the mean, can often be a more accurate measure of an average. Or even the mean with the one or two highest and lowest removed can be more revealing.

Do any of you stats wizards out there have that info?

No stats on me in that respect but the Tigers average age for the last game was 22 years 9 months and North was 24 years and 6 months. Considering most of those that push up our average age will be gone next year, Id say the Tigers will have the younger list playing AFL over the next couple of years or more.
