I know he's never been great defensively, however I think it needs to be put in perspective that he's come back from a knee reco in about 9 months. He's had one of the better returns from a knee reco in AFL history. Certainly not like Richo or Libba, but he's playing closer to his better form from 2006-2007 and far better than he was in 2008.

He's certainly not the answer to our problems, in fact he's still part of the problem, but if we play him for the rest of the year then you never know, we may be able to trade him for something of value.

Never the less, I think he deserves a bit of credit for the hard work in getting back from such a serious injury.

Is he the worst - not even close. Blokes like Laffy, Honybun, Alan McKellar, Manton, Hyrosolakis were far worse. So too was a bloke who wore number 32 for 10 very recent years.

Richmond members question Tambling being taken as a 1st round draft pick, but what about Pettifer? He's been very disappointing for a long period of time. No defensive skills and can't perform in big games. Delist or trade at season's end.

I don't comment on Pettifer because he was a player that should have gone when Frawley left the room.

Petts reminds me of David Bourke. He is soft, but at times, a mercurial lair. No doubt a schoolboy champ, but no hardness and heart. That's why he disappoints. All style, little substance. Can mark, should kick. Can pout, good whinger. Butter.

thats a rediculas comment. there is way worse players like king and mcmahon. pettifer is starting to hit his prime over the last few weeks i have seen great improvement in pettifers skills and deserves his spot on the side

David Bourke....lol....now he was close to one of the worst I've ever seen. Seriously, Pettifer for all his weaknesses has performed much better than some of these other names being bandied around.
