we have seen in the past coaches of afl clubs lose the confidence of players walls, rocket, ayres ect and while the team was losing their fans rubbished the players when the coach was replaced the players played to their potential and were a far better team.

we all know that the players are capable of playing far better football than they have been playing this year so why is everyplayers form down this season.

ask terry ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

We have had ourselves in winning positions in all three games this year.

Not sure Terry has lost his players, I think the players may have lost their "ticker"

I think they put it in their kit at half time - with there mouthguards, but only remember to take out their mouthguards for the 3rd Qtr. Preparation boys!

You have to say that something is wrong. Whether you villify the coach or individual players (and there are some obvious targets) it essentially won't matter. The second half blues we are having are a shocker. We beat Collingwood twice with a list that was better - but not appreciably so - and the difference should have been made up for by improvement from the young brigade who are a pre-season older.

Our best players are playing very poorly. Our second tier of emerging stars who got runs on the board last year are playing as well as their more senior fellow players. We are playing without skill and without form and in the second half, without intensity and run either.

I can only think of two things which are different beyond the very obvious form slump.
1) Joel Bowden is still playing on monsters he can neither beat nor afford to run off (Kella we miss you) so we often see Gas free and taking the ball out of defence not Joel (shudder) he is certainly getting a lot more possessions which isn't a good thing
2) Our skill levels (inability to take the time or hit targets even when we have time) and turnovers perhaps mean we are running ourselves into the ground to do what other teams don't have to do. So we are working harder as it were to get the same result. Does this make the fade out more comprehensible?

Wallace axed AK, Wallace didn't put Polak on Rocca when we got Polak to play in the backline, we played a Pies ressies team, Wallace says the players aren't sticking to the game plan (how many times do we have to hear that)....we can't go anywhere with Joel and Gas in the backline....Gas is finished anyway

Disliked but didn't disagree with the axing of Kella. And yes thank goodness this is Gas' last year and I am honestly not a victimiser of Gas, but like Kella there comes a time.

For me we change the players or the coach or the football department or the recruiting team, I really don't know or care which. Someone has to go if our basic skills and fitness levels don't improve. And I am getting so, so sick of watching players with time *smile* up their passes. Three times leap out at me (I'm sure there were more last night) where players had time and space and still made a complete arse of themselves. Naturally one (but only one) was Tivva. This turnover crap and poor passing has to change or we will never, ever play finals football in this or any other year.

Agree - as you know I am aGAS defender but you dont have GAS in te side to run off your Medhurst types. Medhurst is unaccountable and lazy. You put a player on him that can hurtthe opposition - Raines, Newman or Bowden (even though he is a bit of a clanger king himself - how he couldn't find Foley 30 metres out yesterday under no pressure is typical Bowden)

I thought I understood why GAS was retained - to play on the Gorillas and to provide some support until Will T or someone similar takes over - I never thought he was going to be our no 1 rebounder. At 3/4 time you could just sense what was going to happen and Rocca with some high ball to his advantage would outmark Joel - why is Wallace not taking risks or being proactive - that is waht is filtering down to teh players - dont lose - rather than go win it. You had to have GAS or Polak on Rocca and exploit Medhurst. This cautious approach affects our younger kids - Lids in quarter two got the ball on the wing and found Schulz with a nice pass. No real problems but Jay was on a tightish angle and missed. what Lids in year 1 would have done was to take a bounce and aim his pass to teh square as Jay had 15 metres on his opponent running towards goal. Result Jay takes shot from the goal square.

Still seething and very disappointed with Wallace's reactive coaching.

PS same mistake in round 1 - Gaspar sat on whitnall in l;ast quarter and Bowden outmarked by Fev on two crucial occassions for goals :frustration :veryupset :fire

Polak is what gets me, we got him to play in the backline, he did well there in the preseason, so why the hell did we have Bowden on Rocca when Polak was the perfect opponent? Especially when Bowden hasn't started the year well.

Terry losing the players? I don't think so at all. I have the feeling that this year will be the year where TW will surprise us with some very astonishing delistings. Deep down TW hates to lose, he is an arrogant prick, and the buck will stop with TW. His 3rd year at the club is the middle of his contract, and this year will be the year TW will clean out all the *smile* that has been promising so much but haven't delivered.

This week will be the start of the guillotine being brought in at Punt Road, a head or two will roll, TW has had enough of the same old being bent over by the opposition when the going gets tough, and we will start to see a new look Tiger side in the coming months.

I feel very positive with that post.

Might have to hold you to this one pretty boy. If Plough doesn't bring out the long knife and start trimming careers it's your fault.

Tend to agree GPB.There is only so much a person of TW,s nature can take. The past 3 weeks might actually be a blessing in disguise :)

Well in that case Terry has more tolerance than most around here. ;)

(Last time I saw more hissy fits in 3 weeks was when I had a Prep class. ;D)
