Is Terry squaring up with some of us on here?

well he wont be getting even with any of us on the dark side if he had listened to us we wouldnt be worrying about which dud to delist they would have mostly been gone last yr.and the ones that were left would have known their time was up at the end of this yr.

Dont think your onya Patmalone there Killer, not since Knights and Gale got the short shift have tiger fans been so incensed, understandable too cos at least AK had somthing to offer in comparison to the other duds that survive year after year and not to mention the other mediocre hacks whove been re signed.

Proof in the pudding this year Clawrine.

I was disappointed we didn't utilize our last few picks and full quota of rookies too,but budgeting measures would have accounted for that.
This time around we will supposedly have more funds for the footy dept and rookie list, and I fully expect to see the hard decisions made about guys who have had adequate time to show they are capable of contributing to Richmond challenging for a top 4 position.
As this draft supposedly runs far deeper in junior talent,it would be derelict in duty not to have as many picks via trades or vacant spots from delisted players as neccesary to utilize this strong draft pool, and I believe Miller and Wallace may have had this on thier minds at last seasons end.
Pretty well summed up there Struggs.Clubs knew well before last year how deep this years draft will be.

if this is so bubbles why has miller signed so many borderline players to contracts that prohibits us delisting them in recent times.
At the end of the day Claw the coach has the final say on who should be retained and who should not.If Miller wanted Richo to go and Terry wanted him to stay who do you think would get their way ;)

I believe that's the pecking order with Terry and Greg. I also believe the tables would be reversed if it was Danny who wanted Richo to stay and Greg wanted him gone. ;)

I can only speculate that the players wouldn't sign either for the amount offered on a one year deal.

IE....Player will cop less $ for two years, and a club as skint as us are receptive to the idea.

This doesn't mean I agree with it,and in fact the 5 year long term deals that have occurred in the past are bordering on insanity.
I looked at Aaron Hamil lumping around on friday night and can just imagine what St Kilda would have to shell out if he can't go on.
The Gaspar and Daffy deals still leave scars as well.

No hard decisions as yet apart from Chubba.

Delisting players the likes of Chaffey and Stafford were givens.... no kudos required for them.

Delisting players such as Moore, Rodan, Humm, Roach or any other fringe type aint a difficult choice either.

Decisions on the likes of Tivendale, Hall arent even tough for mine either they should be gone without a second thought.

Tough decisions involve so called higher rated name players. By resigning these types such as Pettifer for example the tigers cant even shop them around to even see what they would attract this year, and i am positive Kane woulda been a very handy type to throw in the trade market as many clubs woulda had a crack at him which coulda gone some way to getting another high draft pick.

So Petts canno be traded this year? Is this because he was resigned this year?

Perhaps TW and GM have absolutely NO intention of trading Petts. That could be another reason for resigning him. Maybe <SHOCK> TW and GM rate him high than some on this site. That of course means TW and GM have absolutely no idea what they are doing.

petts may not be the hard man people want him to be but if you check his stats with those in similar positions (HFF) he is very close to the top

he is coming along very nicely, he is a good mark and good kick who is very dangerous as the game goes on (check out his last qtr stats) if he continues to improve his fitness and strength he will be a very very good player

very mobile, strong overhead - similar style to O'keefe but needs to work on his tackling and hardness at the contest

he wont be going anywhere....

And me to. Petts is OK but O'Keefe is a gun.

claw & craig, still bashing away at the same old cr@p, just as well that you dont call the shots at Tigerland or we would not have a club let alone a team to put on the field.

Petts is still half the player O'Keefe is but concede they play the same role for their respective clubs - take O'Keefe in a blink - half a blink even. However, Petts is who we have and no one else is stepping up to the plate just yet. Perhaps Meyer in another couple of years?

check out this link comparing Okeefe & Pettifer

So besides O'Keefe being Taller and indeed tall enough to be a key position player, heavier and stronger in the contest, which he most certainly is...just watch the way he breaks tackles, has more handball and effects more tackles which makes him a better defensive player, and gives away less frees which would mean he's more disciplined and has more games under his belt which makes him more experienced too,yep there similar alright!!!

He also was a 3rd round pick as opposed to a top 10 pick so has been far greater value as well.
O'Keefe can play small and tall and is light years harder in a contest.
IMO he is a highly underrated commodity in a very good side.

O'Keefe is a great player, as you say tori spelling one of the best in one of the best sides. AK had a couple of very good years, but not in O'K's class.

TW makes a point that hints that he reads these forum sites in the club corner in depth interview.

Seems like it eh - or the message gets to him somehow - that was the point of the thread heading after all...............
