I was thinking about this recently and there are distinct signs that the beast is stirring. What is frightening is what might actually happen if we start having some serious success on field.
-The hype prior to us picking up Ben Cousins
-Picking up Ben in the PSD
-2000 plus people to a training session (Unheard of)
-The media exposure generated by the whole Cousins deal;
-9000 people to our family day
-predictions of a near capacity crowd tomorrow night.
-the media hype building to the round 1 clash
-a real possibility of the largest crowd to an opening round match ever;
All this revolving around 1 player, How big can this get if we can translate it into some onfield success.
One thing I have learn't over the last few months and that is that when the giant truly awakens it could be bigger than many of us dared think.....
It all makes round 1 huge for us and an imperative we come away with the points. If we can the juggernaut will begin. Well just maybe it will begin tomorrow night.
And it wouldn't get much better than seeing Benny Cousins single handedly cut the Wobbles to pieces. Imagine the outcry then. The spotlight would be firmly back on 8 million dollar Eddie ;D
