Is the perception of us changing?

I disagree that a win today will prove we have improved......we need sustained good performances (win or lose) to prove that to me. I always have 2006 in the back of my mind, where floggings were followed by wins or good performances in many instances, yet look what happened in 2007.

Hypocrite!

If that's your criteria then we have already shown it with our display over the 6 or 7 weeks before we played Sydney!

now thats just plain rubbish and clearly the view of someone who has blinkers on.
overall very little has improved we had a two or three week period where a few basics started to be used and the performances lifted a bit.
theres so many things that need addressing it is not funny.

Exactly right. Not saying we dont have a long way to go but we were very consistent for a number of weeks. Let's hope in the vain of Paul Keating that Sydney was the loss we had to have.

No he's not the one with his blinkers on.

So what, doesn't mean we haven't improved on last year.

if we have improved its marginal how the hell is marginal improvement from a wooden spooner going to change peoples perception.
dont kid yourselves we are still a laughing stock.

If the perception of Richmond is that we are a decent team heading in the right direction then yes that perception is/should be changing.

Easy on the hypocrite accusation there Western.

I don't regard 6 weeks of a 22 week season as "sustained". I also don't judge improvement or otherwise on the result of a single game. Is six weeks sustained in your view?

I think the improvement thus far is marginal. Skills, decision making, leadership, composure under pressure are all still very ordinary. We have been competitive in some games this year but so what? Even though we won the spoon last year, we still were competitive in many games.

Many have jumped the the gun following a short succession of "close" results, or a single result and declared we have improved. Sorry, but my history of following this club tells me I need longer term evidence than that. And this evidence doesn't lie in the final scoreline of a single game or a small selection of games either.

However, if 6 games of competitive football is "sustained" improvement in your view then so be it. Because your view and my view are different doesn't make me a hypocrite.
