Is there another Playing Clique Ruling Richmond?

Not sure how true this is but I have been told that Deledio to put it nicely is not a fan of Wallace. Anyone else heard this??

I'm glad to see that most PreEnders seem to be in agreement on this issue.

If there is a player 'clique' then crush it immediately.

For all the talk of it coming from the young group - or coming from the older group,

IT IS IRRELEVANT!!!!!!!!!!!

It has NO place in a successful team.

I greatly fear that Deledio is part of it - because it would support his lack of onfield endeavour this year.

Typical pampered princess who has not been able to live up to the hype - nor accept the criticism that has been fawned on him since strapping on his school boy boots.

I don't care who it is: Cotchin / Deledio / Tambling - ANYONE - young or old - if there is a clique - SACK THEM NOW!

what is that venting all about ?
I just can't believe what we've seen/heard today:

(a) the media are SCUM! this stroy was their concuction (HUN) and now they all go into bat trying to defend the fact that they reported a rumour and not news!

(b) unfortunately where there is smoke there is fire

(c) therefore - if it is true that the players didn't like the post match spray at Morton!!! BAD LUCK! This tears my heart out! I can not believe that players are this sensitive

(d) this therefore lends itself to my longest held fear - that it's not TW taking us to ruin - but an insidious bunch of over paid / over hyped / unskilled / unintelligent prats who have their own self interest above that of the club!!

What happens this weekend?

Who plays - who doesn't - who is making the decision - is Newman now Captain/Coach???

FFS this is the darkest day in RFC history.

SOS days were much darker Sir but I get where you are coming from. I'm just hopeful that someone will stand up and start shooting back at the media and any player pranks. If half the team don't like it, tough!.

The problem I have is, if what Wallace said to Morton is true (and I'm hearing it was only the tip of the filth laden iceberg) then he has put himself before the club. It's hard to ask players to do the same, if you don't do it to yourself. Wallace is in a leadership position. He needed to shut up and lead.

Nothing wrong with giving the players a spray, but as soon as you make it personal, you lose credibility.

Why in gods name are the players talking to the media?

If its true that just about tells you the place is not unfied and is fractured

I wonder if Wallace thought "*smile* I'm gone, time to tell these pricks what I really think about them".

If he got personal, he has nothing to lose in telling some home truths.

Just on this - if true, I can understand. The pressure of being an elite footballer, the constant scrutiny, the constant losing and selection merry-go-round, and this is all happening to a group of highly competitive young men out to prove they are invincible stars who can win premierships. Yes, most players on our list believe the team has the talent to win flags in teh near future. When we go on a losing streak like this, then yes you are more sensitive than usual, your competitive nature turns you into a beast.

Every club has groups and cliques. But currently in the Playing Group at RFC it is clearly polarised to the extent that while alot of players do spend time together outside the club - it is very splintered and at times acrimonious between each group.

There is a core group that has played a distinctive role in recent times in undermining both other players and the coaching staff. All I will say is that like the 90s scenario, some of these players are on Marquee dollars, have stern attitudes, but have been playing very inconsistent football.

And the make things worse, this group has had the audacity to bemoan recent inclusions and droppings from the Seniors - like they deserve an opinion.

Older or younger players? PM me if you don't want to reply here.

Depends on what the players are doing really. If they are fed up with the strange selections, playing of favorites, over-complicated and ineffective game plan, then I for one am happy to hear there is a group of players within the club willing to make a stand and confront the issues.

Christ, aren't they just doing what we've been begging somone at RFC to do ?

I have bad memories of the days when Daffy, Campbell, Gale, Knights, and a couple of others ruled the club. Some were on marquee contracts....Some choked on the big stage...Some hated Walls because he tried to take them on an told them some home truths...The Giesh was more compliant - he backed down and allowed the mediocrity to fester....

I don't start stuff like this but a friend of mine that is close to the club informed me that a similar clique is ruling this group - complaining about the coach; complaining and backstabbing players that are and are not getting a game; moaning about what players are getting paid and contract extentions; blaming others for their poor form and so on.

Based on this - our next coach has to do a Blight and get rid of this dead wood. I never thought I would say this but does Richmond need an autocratic coach?

If I was an employee of the RFC, I would be upset about what Brown and McMahon get paid too.

This club needs a clean out and now.

Wallace
Royal
Brown
McMahon
Shulz
Bowden
Tuck
Simmonds
Polak
Pettifer

Time to go
