Is there anyone positive out there???

They have a superior midfield,a superior forwards which is not a bad start.

We'll see.
Sure their midfield MIGHT be great in a few years but there's plenty of water to pass under the bridge yet.

Juddy's going to have his work cut out. He'll want to be fit.
He'll cop the best tag every week as there will be no Cousins, Kerr & Cox etc. surrounding him.

Youngsters Murphy & Gibbs whilst promising have plenty left to prove. They are no champions yet.
Stevens has a crook neck and Scotland is just ok.
Fevola(27) is a ticking time bomb with a suspect knee.
Kreuzer is unlikely to make an immediate impact and their ruck division is terrible as is their leaky defence.

There are a shedload of young ordinary players on the Cartoon list and one wonders how morale will be after the exodus of experienced players Whitnall, Kouta, Lappin depart. After so many losses in the past few years does this team know how to win?

I am not convinced they will be a threat to anyone next season(except us maybe :().
Time will tell.

good on ya TOo - I agree - Carltons list is the same as this year with some less experience and they didnt do that well this year - even with a "gun" FF they didnt even get the % we did.

I cannot believe what I am hearing about their list being better - maybe everyone is confusing better list with better draft pick positions so they should be better. If this year was any indication then I think scum are in for a long year. One addition will not do a lot for them - may make them more competitive but surely not to the extent some seem to think. If that is all it takes then next year we should recruit the best and then we will be there too - pfffft what a load of rubbish.

If you look at their recruits - they have not done a thing - Walker - hehehe joke! Waite - done nothing - Simpson - has not done a lot, Gibbs - newish and did nothing, Murphy - did ok in patches - still not much chop. Stevens - has done SFA since arriving at the club - still getting by on his somewhat dubious reputation when he was 21.

Where is their backline? Apart from ugly man up forward, who else they got? For me, they are at best, patchy and if you think Judd is going to make them much better then I will talk to you again next year - after they are beaten a lot!

How can they improve - tell me that - where is the improvement coming from? Same could be said for the Tigers - Browne with a full preseason - Cogs back, Simmonds fit, yeah, it is as encouraging for us too but dont hear that mentioned! Our kids are actually thought of a little more than theirs yet we are saying they ar not. Didnt see any selections in the team of the year for scum did you? NO.

Wake up and get with the program you lot! Carlton has had the best picks and done nothing for 6 years - and they will do the same next year unless they improve their mindset! Cant see that happening - they believe they are finals contenders - I cant wait till they fall and hit their big ugly heads.

Dont sit and tell me their list is beter - one on one I will argue you are WRONG.

I dont see what you others are seeing thats for sure - Tigers WILL do ok and the kids will come to the fore as much as the Blues kids - only we have passion - that will lift us over them in the end!

geeezzzzzzz ****puts soapbox back till next time****

was steering clear of this thread but have to say carlton have already gone past us. next yr they were looking at finals even before they aquired judd.
just my opinion.

:rofl :rofl :rofl classic u are delusional claw fair dinkum, the rabble were looking at finals next year even before judd, what a joke.

And my opinion is we will finish above the rabble, mark my words!
Blues have a much better list & unfortunately they will finish above us next year.

Who gives a flying F what the Blues do.

I thought I'd repost what I said on another thread. Wallace is building a 'Wallace' team of running utilities as opposed to a traditional team. That's why what he is doing mystifies the traditionalists among us.

I remain reasonably positive about this year, and enjoyed a lot of the football the Tigers played this year with an eye firmly on the future as opposed to the results of most of the games. I really liked our end to the season, which had the look of a team for whom a number of things were falling into place. As for my expectations, I will wait for 2009 before making any judgement on Wallace & Miller. That is the year I expect the Tigers to make the finals if his plans are bearing fruit.

I'm with you Djevv. Always enjoy your posts.

I actually made a point of not embellishing my post with emotive hope. I really do think it is realistic. I am a believer. I don't think we are that far from Hawthorn and I can't quite see what you think Carlton are doing different to us apart from Judd and that has a potential to not work out for them - in fact there are areas Carlton are behind such as their coaching team's experience.

now for something positive ... ah bugger it.

You shouldn't have read it claw. I haven't read your petition for the same but opposite reasons. :hihi

I really find it hard to see why Carlton would be seen as passing us. In my completely biased view starting with the midfield: Deledio > Gibbs, Foley > Murphy, Coughlan > Stevens. The remainder of their midfielders are easily matched by ours. Judd adds a dimension that is hard to match of course - however he does not walk on water as some people think. Their backline is average at best. Ours is showing some real promise with Thursfield, Maguane & Polak - though a long way to go however. Oh yeah on the forwards of course they have Fevola, well we have Richo; Tambling > Betts; Pettifer = Waite; Brown > Carrazzo. We also have some very promising youngsters coming up as shown through our success in Coburg. Where did the Bullants end up this year? Not so good as I recall.

Finally Wallace > Ratten

I can't see at all how Carlton > Richmond.

Good one tigerlee, let the facts speak, we had the 3rd highest attendence too I believe, just goes to show the passion and patience Tiger supporters have. A few holes to fill and plenty of improvement, at least I'm sure we have got the players that can improve individually and as a group as well as more to come in 8)
I don't believe wooden spoon position is a true indication of where we are at, and am sure steps are being to rectify the situation.
A lot being said as to how we missed out on Kreuzer, but at 17 or 18 in 2008 wouldn't think that he'd be ready anyway, otherwise Josh Fraser early victim of burnout comes to mind.
So it is still going to take some time. I'd rather no quick fixes to appease the unhappy masses but a considered and structured plan to give us sustained success.....we will get there

we still have a long way to go.................BBBBBBBBBBUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

carlscum are 2 years behind us, they r s#it. considering they hav been bottom for several years, they aren't looking too good. they're backline is shot, they hav one fwd, sometimes 2..........no crumbers and some of u think carlscum r in front of us.....NOT FOR MINE

Everyone has a right to their point of view, even if you don't agree, for me I want the tiges back up there where we belong, but some of us bleed more for this club and show more passion. I am sure we all want the same but express it differently.

Maybe Judd>Foley/Coughlan/Deledio helps

Lets hope we play Carlton twice in 2008, you might change your view.

Love to see both teams at full strength, just hope the bookies are of the same view as claw.
