PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

I know a lot of you can't stand Rob Walls. And I'm in that group as well.

However, there's an opinion that whilst Walls can't coach sides (unless they're near unbeatable before he gets there) to Premierships, he can help rebuild one. He's been some credit in the past to how well Brisbane turned out.

What I wanted to see, was popular opinions on the fact that while Wallace might not be able to coach us to a Premiership, but whether he's done a reasonable job to putting the foundations in place to build one?

Personally, I think he's done a pretty good job asking for support structures etc to be bought in to help support the coach. He's helped rebuild our list, and while I think he could have made a few extra decisions regarding some senior players, overall, he's got a list with a lot more talent than when he started. Yes there are some real success stories (Foley, Thursfield, Edwards to name a few) and some failures to date with the new kids, one of which I wouldn't pin on Wallace (JON, we simply got that one wrong).

I honestly think he'll see out his five years, because he'll cost a lot to payout and although we're financially stronger, we're still in debt. We also need to stick all the way through a plan, just once. At the end though, we'll probably have enough talent to have another coach come in, make a couple of tweaks to our gameplan and we'll see a different side.

One thing I won't argue with though, is it's going to be a long winter.
