G'day everyone,

i'm still recovering from some horrible news. As a mad, passionate Seattle Supersonics fan (NBA team) i've been left feeling gutted by their relocation to Oklahoma City where they lose their name and colours and identity, basically lost forever. having seen them win playoff games live and go so close to the championship and see players drafted and grow etc. etc (you know the story) it's just so sad.

so it made me think about a team i'm even more passionate about : RICHMOND FOOTBALL CLUB. We got so close to dying before the S.O.S recovery. how bad would it be if we lost our club. yes PRE is full of whingeing and whining about how bad we are EVERY YEAR, but i can tell you from experience, it's SO MUCH BETTER to have them here and bad than not here at all. Don't get me wrong, i can't wait for our revival as much as the next bloke, but ive been reflecting on what we have NOW and it's sooo good.

We are psycho when we are winning, it feels so good, coz it rarely happens. We band together like no other team's supporters. we can laugh at ourselves and yet vigorously defend our team to other scum supporters who don't understand. We have the most unique culture in the AFL and i don't reckon i'd trade it for anything (eg Carltank and all their bought flags). Our recovery will be all the more sweeter when it comes.

Thank God for RFC and the joy they bring, let's face it, if there was no joy, none of us would still be here on PRE!

Very true, I can't believe anyone would want to move anything to Oklahoma City, there's nothing bloody there.

It reminds me of the line from Baseketball
"The Minneapolis Lakers moved to Los Angeles where there are no lakes. The Oilers moved to Tennessee where there is no oil. The Jazz moved to Salt Lake City where they don't allow music"
