I was listening to The Run Home on SEN tonight and they had people ringing in saying why they hated us.
It was great to hear people saying how much they hate us because of Balmey whacking Southby, how feral our supporters are, etc, etc.
It reminded me of when I was growing up and everybody hated us 'cos we were so successful.
I hope we are "really" hated in the future. ;)

I know what you mean Leigh. In recent years I've noticed a fair bit of pity when people talk to me about Richmond. I'd prefer them to say suffer in ya jocks than to say you poor thing.

I've noticed a bit of a change now and the pity has been replaced with a bit of respect because we've been more competitive this year.

I loved the days when people did hate us because we were so good. There's a whole generation or two on here who haven't experienced that in their lifetime. I hope they do so soon.

:gotigers

On the contrary, in the last two decades we've been hated with a passion - by ourselves. :-\

Was on the bus from the Adelaide CBD (not that there really is one!) to Footy Park on Saturday with some feral Port supporters who started chatting away to us "tourists". I can assure you, they had more pity for me and the Tigers than hatred.

Even at the game when we won, surrounded by Port supporters, some were almost "happy" for me and my mates, given the crap we have endured over the years. Still didn't stop me giving it to em though!! :hihi

It will take a fair while to see that pity replaced by hatred IMO.

Interesting you say that Phil. I've never experienced a real feral Port crowd over there. I find them more like you describe them. Crows supporters are a different kettle of fish though.

They were surprisingly good Rosy- I expected a lot worse. Having said that, most around us were very one-eyed.....blaming the umpiring for everything (some were calling them cheating Victorians)! I did sense a bit of an inferiority complex with some supporters around us (i.e SA v Victoria), but no real animosity at all.
