Calm heads everybody. If (and it's a big if) what Hutchison reported on tonight's footy show is true (and I still find much of it hard to believe), then it's really an indictment on a number of players moreso than the administration or coach.
If it's correct, a few things need to happen: -
1. Johnson, King and whoever else was behind the Captain going to the coach should be terminated.
2. Newman should stand down as Captain.
3. Players told that all their careers are on the line and those that don't want to be part of re-building this great club can enjoy Coburg for the rest of the year and be traded/delisted after that.
4. Issues that were raised by players (many of which would seem valid and obvious to those of us suffering through the games every week) must be addressed by the football department and coaching staff.
5. President needs to get on front foot and state that such behaviour from specific players will not be tolerated irrespective of the ongoing review of the football department.
Clearly if the players had issues, Newman should have gone to Cameron or March, not to Wallace demanding his resignation. However this situation is not the mountain that the media is beating it up to be. Really it's about poor behaviour by what would seem to be a small number of players. Nevertheless the club is greater than the individual and the perpetators need to be removed.
