Its the half-way point in the 2007 season and we are two and a half years into TW's five year reign as coach and the club is restructuring. Feels timely to look at Richmond's playing group and ask the question as to who really should be on the park for us. This year we have no structure and balance so our results are unusually poor but nevertheless we were always going to be a bottom four side based on the form we have shown this year.
Our recruitment over the last five years hasn't been good enough to support the massive list turnover that we are experiencing. I'm not massively upset by our recruitment efforts but I'm not ecstatic either. Believe we have recruited too many project players and not enough hard bodies given how deeply we are cutting.
Too many of our list are injured, have had a form reversal against last year or still aren't good enough due to age or ability to REALLY hold down a position in an AFL side. There are very few players on our list who actually escape these three categories but those that do ideally would be the only ones we should be playing. Unfortunately AFL isn't six a side so we are down each week on real contributors.
Lets all pick those players who actually deserve a game on quality and current form and availability, no "potential" or injured please. What positions do we have that are truly up for grabs remembering that our injury list isn't actually that long.

I found half an AFL side. More than I thought I would get but still a not a top eight side regardless. Very recent form of King, Jackson and Tambling got them a game otherwise it really would have been six a side. It was easier to pick the bench and emergencies since their ability/form isn't supposed to be as good as the starting 18. Edwards for me was the hardest to leave out, he doesn't deserve to be in an AFL side yet but I do like his endeavour. Hmmm Tivva, in all honesty he didn't deserve to be dropped, reckon he would make the bench in a lot of sides.
