just read in another thread where craig thought other than lids bling and thursfield he's got nothin to forward to as far as the kids are concerned next year. Well me being the ever optimist would be hoping this mite happen.
*DELIDIO& TAMBLING-will be allowed time to mature on the wings. imagine the space and run they would create and the backline would know they only have to put the ball out in front of them. This would generate confidence and excitement.
*THURSFIELD- just to play 20 odd games and cement his spot down back. Maybe he could build up a bit and pinch hit up forward.
*JACKSON-we almost forget about jacko being taken as a 53ish pick and still very young. He could be given chaffys run with role.He needs to get super fit to be able to run with the games elite midfielders. He'll learn a lot next year. Richmond needs blokes like jacko to demand a spot early on and keep it all year putting the chaffs and tivvers back to coburg.
*RODAN- still young at 22 and still learning the the game. Needs to be given a role. eg bpocket playing on the rovers or small forwards. and a licence to run it out of the backline( ala david king). kicking long to lids.
*RAINES- Important year for him. Needs to play 8-15 and games next season maybe backflank or pocket or you feel if he doesn't his time mite be up come the end of 06. body still immature needs to put on some muscle as well.
* ROACH- ditto raines.  needs games next year or he'l be gone. with cambo gone and chaff and tivvers getting on he has to string some games together.
*SHULTZ-is he 21 yet? big fellows take a bit of time. But its now time to produce something. i've got a real good feelin on the sarge. Looks like hall will be chb so with a massive hole this year at chf shultz has got the perfect oppotunity to make chf his own.Would bring a whole new dimension to the forward line especially with browny back if he can fire.
*MEYER- although classy still has a very immature body but like to see him play some cameo roles off the bench 6-10 games.
*PATTISON- ditto meyer, but would be good to see him finishing off the year in the one's after taken over from staff,10-12 games
*POLO- mite surprise us all, finished off the year well at coburg.Could be given 1st crack at backflank or pocket or at least be given some game thru the year.
*FOLEY- seems to have good work ethic after coming from the rookie list u would expect 10-12 games.
*GILMOUR-not sure about him. maybe giving a game or two late in season.
So in summing up i know we whinge about certain older players on our list but hopefully the kids will not only demand a spot but be given a crack as well, and these older players will fade away to coburg and then delist.
I also hope we don't pick up other sides scraps in the psd.We have plenty of players on our list who can play the small back pocket wallace wants.
CRAIG this is not to mention the 3 new kids we'll get in this years draft.

Re: Its Time Boys.

Delidio and Tambling, tick showed enough will play regular football. Thursty probably the same.

Jackson has had chances and not delivered, is on his last year.

Frawley tried Rodan in the backline and ended up dropping him. Opposition coaches would take him straight to the goal square and put him in one out in marking contests. He has to play midfield or forward, no other options for the D Rod. I don't class him as a kid anymore.

Raines, I think has potential to be halfback flank.

*smile*, showed glimpses (like in real estate, ocean glimpses if you stand on the toilent turn look through the exhaust fan) I am not convinced but will be happy to be proved wrong.

Roach ditto Jackson

Meyer, Patison, Polo, Foley, Gilmour are unknown quantities for me, first three will get minimum two more years, second two probably have to deliver this year to stay.

So in summary I am looking forward to Delidio, Tambling and possibly Meyer, Patison, Polo and possibly Raines becoming regular footballers. If any of the others turn into footballers it will be a bonus for me.

Re: Its Time Boys.

ray hall- been given about 7 years jury still out
pettifer- at least 5 years, just starting to click.
chaffy- about 10 years and never clicked
so i'd cut jacko a bit of slack only been there 2 years, got a bit of mongrel about him, strong and aggressive and with a bit of devopment could easily play chaffys role, as he grows into it,he'l learn some attacking skills(kirk and licuria) hopefully.

Would love this kid to get a rising star nomination in 2006.

Re: Its Time Boys.

Who win the rising star next year will be one of the weakest years players going around all the good young players form this year have played to many games and players from this years draft are just not that good.

I personally expect 'Happy' to be the 4th to be delisted.

Funny all this talk about Gilmore being delisted. Some well known posters on PRE were singing his praises not too long ago. It appears to have all gone pearshaped. I wonder what's gone wrong. :(

You can probably say with the Spring Carnival in it's full bloom, he would be as 'happy' as a pig in *smile*.

Hall is 196cm Jackson is 188cm talls take longer, and as you say jury is still out.
Chaffey is lucky to be playing.
Pettifer kicked 8 goals from 7 games as a 19 year old and showed a bit it was the next two years where he struggled.

Just because we gave average players more time in the past doesn't mean its the right thing to do. I'll stick with my first view, he needs to show the good this year.

Can't agree with this assesment at all, except that he does indeed need to play at least 15 games next year. I think his performances so far have easily been good enough to warrant giving him a spot ahead of Chaffey or Tivendale, and he was very unlucky not to get more opportunities this year. From what I saw of him in '05 he looked entirely comfortable playing in the midfield, shows good vision and poise in traffic and was not easily pushed off the ball. His body seemed the ideal size for playing a midfield/hbf role.

If he spends the pre season working on getting a little more pentration on his kicks, especially his left foot, he could be a very damaging player indeed.

If you read properly you would have recognised that yes i do rate Lids , Bling , but i also rate Meyer very highly and have since day dot as well as enjoying the prospect that is Thursty Will.
I also stated that i wish to see the likes of the Jacksons Hartigans and Rainses playing more games and getting more game time ahead of the duds so we can see where they are headed as opposed to watching the fumbling , bumbling skill deficient hacks that are taking the field week in week out as it is right now.
So dont take me out of context peoples i am a big fan of playing the kids and one of the hardest pushers for youth on this site as i am sick to death of watching the Chaffeys, Halls, Hydes, Pettifers and Tivendales running around leading to bottom 4 -5 finishes year in year out!

Bring on the cubs and cull the duds. :hihi

I dont see him making it to be brutally honest as ive seen alot of Coburg games and he lacks intensity, is lazy at times and at times seems to not posess team orientation.
I dont think he will make it but am more than happy for him to prove me wrong, but i doubt he will.
Same goes for Roach , Limbach and also Schulz who must do somthing this year or it will or should be sayonara!
Hall is a truck and Pettifer is a Cat whose only redeeming feature is he can kick straight at goal when he gets his soft posessions.Dont even get me started on Tivendale hahahahahaahaha :hihi

I personally like the look of Jackson Hartigan and Raines as future tiger players and wish to see these three boys playing in the seniors as often as possible, with Harts and Jackson providing intensity and run whilst Raines is going to be a very good in close disposer and distributer of the footy with his vision and clever hands.
Bring em in.

we do think along similiar lines i just mean't we have more to look forward to than u think or realise. other years we've had no good prospects coming along. with all our present kids in the spot light our new draftees can just ease into the club. By keeping our first round picks it almost feels like a production line of youngsters coming on. Quite a bit different to other years where we've traded away early picks.
