Think we should do whatever it takes to get Jonathan Brown we need a presence at CHF I would give him a 5 year deal the the number 17!!

I agree, but we don't agree with a 5 year deal.

Also we need to be careful not to become the next Fremantle. Getting ageing stars that might not go the distance of their contract or peform as expected.

Question is too simplistic.
If we had to give up first pick - and he'd come for $200,000 per year - YES
If we had to give up first pick - along with another pick - and pay $1,000,000 per year - NO

I'd be hesitant to give up our first rounder for him despite our lack of a superstar forward and Richo's impending retirement but I wouldn't say never if the deal was reasonable..

No more 5 year deals.........

Nope. Apart from a bit of midrange list balancing/ padding our future rides on the kids taken from the 04 draft and onwards.
Need to take a full complement of young kids this year as it's the last uncompromised draft for years to come.
To throw away another year of future players for an overpaid long term contract for a mature superstar will just stagnate growth and development.
If the Brown dog was about twenty four, no problems you'd get a future but at twenty seven or eight and with his injury niggles taking their toll, NO WAY.

Yep it's all bout the future for us, Brown would be to expensive both in dollars and trade + to old for us

As TM said we need to take some quality kids in this draft

I would cost too much in terms of draft picks or loss of future talent. No thanks.
