Article in the age by Jake Niall,

says that one club rated J O N as the number 1 pick overall...

I wonder who it was.

Probably West Coast or Freo..., hopefully West Coast :hihi

it would have had to have been someone with a pick AFTER us (ruling out Carscum, Dawks, Pies & Bummers) otherwise we wouldnt have him - funny about that :hihi :cutelaugh ::) ;D

It was WestCoast - thought they had him :hihi

When Scott Clayton was interviewed prior to the draft on SEN, he said he had something up his sleeve for pick 11 - but he was just hoping that the player in question would still be there.

I think it may have been JON

least we have the GF sprint cornered ;D
Lids-2005
Tambo-2006
JON-2007

two drafts in terrys reign and we've snared possibly the 3 fastest players in em..... salivating stuff huh ;)

If the information about Woodehouse, Smart and Clayton each wanting JON is accurate, it's a ringing endorsement of our selection from three of the most highly rated practitioners of the craft.

GM and FJ are really keen on him. They have mates, it seems.

Irrespective of which recruiting officers wanted him, that at least three others did with their first choice, refutes the popular idea that JON was a left-filed selection.

JON was an orthodox choice. Time will tell whether he was a good one.

Any reason why some on the site think that JOn is a 50 / 50 proposition? I would like to know the thinking behind it.

Generally, posters seem to think that no other clubs rated him.

Irrespective of how he turns out, I'm just talking about this point ATM.

There are plenty of comments on JON on the other thread, mojo.

Must admit to not knowing to much about this kid or the rest of our draftees, but luck would have I had a couple of bevvies with a high ranking east perth Official on Sat. night and he said we had ourselves a very special talent in J-O-N
