PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Leski's Auction House proudly announced they were selling Jack Dyer's last Richmond guernsey.
It comes with a signed letter of authenticity from Jack Dyer, thought to be Jack's last ever signature, to prove it is the same jumper.
The current bid on it is $3,750.

However:
DO NOT BUY THIS JUMPER!!

It is obviously a fake, and not what it is purporting to be.

Why would I say such a thing?

1. The collar in the 1940's had buttons, this has the 70's collar.
2. In Jack's day, they only made long sleeve jumpers, and the players who wanted sleeveless cut off the sleeves, this has a nice cuff to it.
3. Looks like plastic numbers, these came in, in the 1960s. Not the 1940's when Jack retired.
In the 1940's the numbers were felt.

It might be Barry Richardson's it might be some bloke's from Mitcham or Westmeadows or any other club who wear Tigers jumpers.
But I would stake my left nut on it not being Jack Dyer's.
