Gee I would like to see him playing with a decent tall.

Kicks three, the Crows collaspe on him after quarter one and not one tall can find space or take a mark.

It's hard work being a one out forward in an avertage side.

Average forward line. If we fix this issue immediately, we play finals this season.

Disgree, despite the media BS over the years, richo was right to go crook on players who delivered it like crap year after year. I don't have a problem with Jack remindinhg players if they don't follow team rules, and basic common sense, when delivering it forward. Again today ( after the first 1/4)we had so many deliveries into to the forward 50 that were just appalling. Even Dwayne Russel noticed it. Why shouldn't Reiwoldt point it out?

agree

He was outnumbered 3 to 1 most of the time after the first 1/4, way to predictable.

The worry is that this has been a common occurance. The St Kilda game was really the only time he had any space whatsoever.

Our forward work is really poor and has been for most of the year, given the amount of ball we get in there.

Re: Jack Riewoldt

Burden would be taken off Jack if Richmond get Cloke over. The two are a perfect fit. Our CHF position is the reason we are not sitting in the top 8. Backline has been overachieving this year and now they are going back to their mean. Our midfield is top but to much garbage floating around the flanks.

yeah, it is frustrating to watch. Unfortunately Beavis got owned in regards to that.

the opposition has a spare player back because we do at the other end, which is one of our strengths, getting numbers behind the ball then running it forward. we man their loose player up and we lose our lose player. its a quandry.

agree, Richo gave up on a pass one day which led to him being dropped. That was bad. Besides that sort of behaviour there is nothing wrong with a forward telling players what they think, as long as they dont carry on and on about it.

Re: Jack Riewoldt

Jack has a pretty angry serious face as well, often when it looks like he is giving a spray he is just shouting instructions.

Yeah I understand that. But it was up to Beavis to work out how to nullify their 'plus 1'. It's not like he didn't have time. Early in the second quarter it was obvious to all it wasn't working, and the momentum had changed. IMO, leaving Elton as a witches-hat on Rutten was a glaring mistake. Rutten, like Scarlett and Fletcher, have been in the game far too long to just let them impose their will, willy-nilly. Even putting Connors on him would have been an improvement. Griff or Grimes would've possibly worked as well.

Personally I'm not that fussed. We don't belong in the finals, and bitter pill that it is to swallow, we are probably better off not masking it given the way that this year draft is set up. But make no mistake about it, Beavis still has a lot of work to do in regards to defensive tactics. He has got our free-flowing offensive game going reasonably well, but he still has little idea how to play finals type pressure, tacftical football, IMO when it becomes time to tighten up. How many times did we get burn't on the break?

If Richmond get Cloke, to quote Wallace, I will fair dinkum spew!

Anyone who honestly thinks CLoke will cure all is delusional. He will not leave Collingwood.....his manager, if he was a Richmond man, would have had them here long ago. All this Cloke to Richmond dribble is just using us to gain leverage against Collingwood.....his pea heart will not have him leaving the Pies to come to Punt Road.... develop our own. You cant buy lomg term success....you build it

Jack is allowed to run up the ground,
Seems like he is being lazy again

Indeed, I can see how people who didn't watch the game could come to that conclusion. Those of us that watched the game would have seen that he did actually run up the ground.

Fair call,
I just hate hearing about 3 players hanging off him,
Where were the 2 free forwards?

Re: Jack Riewoldt

Well sometimes it was in Jack's direction, a lot of the time it looked like they were picking out the area where the most Crows players standing by themselves were gathered.

Agree whole-heartedly. Just makes me angry everytime someone pleads for us to get Cloke. Going for a short-term fix will just impede development of our own. Paying Cloke close to a $1million for 5 years will mean we can't keep everyone on the list (which St.Kilda are currently having problems with). It wouldn't surprise me if his body starts to break down in a couple of years time aswell. I will spew up if we go and get Cloke.

In fairness Tooheys is the only person I can recall pleading for us to get Cloke

Re: Jack Riewoldt

We are going to waste jack in his prime surrounding him with guys like miller. Vickery is a 50/50 to be anything and the rest are all babies. With our current team, having Cloke at CHF makes us a finals side straight up. You are not going to find a CHF the way we did finding Maric. I say have a crack at him.
