Re: Jack Riewoldt

Watch how Petrie attacks the contest Jack...focus on the ball not all the other *smile*.

Re: Jack Riewoldt

Desperately needs help. I don't care if it's griffiths, post or astbury - one or two of them need to be played as a key fwd for the rest of the year. Vickery must also sort himself out for next year.

Re: Jack Riewoldt

If he was getting the frees like petrie was good ol jack would not be arguing one bit, petrie gets the rub of the green whilst jack gets a dud deal from the umps, enough said....

Don't agree with that. Punxsutawney Phil has it in one - just attack the pill like Petrie and the rest of it will be taken care of. Petrie - on one leg - was terrific in the last term. Would love him at Punt Road.

kiddin me arent ya rance gets frees against him on petrie that Thompson did many many times today on jack thats my point...serious man jack took some strong contested marks did u not see them.....

One thing i will say is this jack needs to get on his bike more heaps of times today our fwd line was open and all he needed to do was push off his man get a meter or 2 on him and have the kicker coming to the fwd line kick into space and jack would get some easy marks to the chest....he wants to take every speccie sometimes he just needs to lead to space or force the player coming towards the 50 to kick into space so jack can lead on to it and mark....

Jack was horrible in the first half,
I don't understand why he wanted the ball in a one-on-one contest when Thompson was beating him every single time.
Glad the coaches got stuck into him at half time and got him to lead for the footy.

Needs to stop sooking and playing for free kicks....pull your head in Jack.
i agree jack cost us dearly in the first half , he should of got on his bike after the he lost the first test of strenght with thompson , jack played into norths hands by wrestling instead of running hard , some how we managed to screw up another winnable game

Re: Jack Riewoldt

Getting pretty sick of Jack's petulance, arguing, pleading for frees and then attempting the "hail mary" pass/kick in a contest because the previous contests didn't go his way. Just as many on here have been condemning Judd for his repeated dodgy tactics, Jack is gradually labelling himself that comp's most selfish and sooky player.

I think he needs a hard line. If I was Dimma, I'd tell him that next week he'll be subbed off the second he argues with the umpire. He's getting them off-side and I don't think it's helping others in the team get a decent run from the green little gnomes either. Time Jack shut his trap for the team and just got a kick.

spot on. We all love Jack but I reckon he needs to pull his head in and work his backside off.

Utter crap. I'm pretty hard on Jack but he was very good and was being mauled by his opponent yesterday. When Rance used the exact same tactic he gave away free kicks! Nope, Jack worked very hard and did his job. I do wish he would give more HARD leads, but he did well.

Re: Jack Riewoldt

It seems so simple, yet he doesnt seem to have worked it out yet.

He is far more dangerous when he stops getting into a wrestle, or trying to win a one on one, and actually gets on his bike and works around the forward line.

He is far too smart for defenders, and when he is prepared to work hard, present, double back, present again, he not only loses his opponent through pure football smarts, but he blows up these scragging defenders like Thompson with his tank.

He reads the play so well, that when he can work his angles, no tall defender in the game can go with him, and still be able to compete with him in the air.

Jack - its simple, work hard, work your angles, lead hard, lead often, the goals will come and the wins will follow.

Re: Jack Riewoldt

I wonder why Jack didn't get a touch in the last quarter when the game was up for grabs.

was crucified by the umps. was held the entire game.

He still got touches in the other 3 quarters though. If being held the entire game rendered him ineffective I wonder why we didn't change his role and try to utilise him in a different way. It looked like he was still our forward focus.

Re: Jack Riewoldt

opposition key defenders must be over joyed when jack plays the push back wrestling game, plays right into their and their teams hands when jack wants to wrestle his way through matches.

Our forward coaches aren't doing their jobs, if they allow jack to play his wrestling style, rather then the mobile game.

Re: Jack Riewoldt

I would actually play Kel Moore up forward if Griff is fit next week. Kel is actually a natural leader at the ball when forward and has, as a general rule, the defensive poise to make him worth trying up there.

I don't think Harry meant he was held as in Thompson did a good job on him. More that Thompson was breaking the rules and getting away with it.

I realise that but legal or not it hampered our chances so it would have been good to find a way around it.

Would make an effective decoy, but no much of a set shot IIRC.
