A few more accolades that may have been missed.
As posted only the 4th Tiger to get to 300 games, only the third VFL/AFL player to have played 300, won multiple flags and multiple Colemans. Also 4th on the list for most goals for the Tigers behind Skinny, Richo and Hungry ( and probably the only one of that group to be remembered by his actual first name :mhihi )
On 706 goals currently, putting him in 24th place overall for most career goals, one behind *smile* Lee. Needs another 13 goals to get more bragging rights over cousin Nick. Could crack the top 20 if he kicks 17 more goals for the season

Did anyone notice BT refer to Jack as "Jack Hawkins" last night? Wasn't qualified either

Yes and normally you would say it’s just the crap commentators on 7

BUT

given it was Jack, in his 300th game, who had kicked 6 goals, I thought it was unbelievably disrespectful, disappointing and just pathetic - and no one corrected him.

In Jack 300th for gods sake.

Maybe he was looking at the Coleman table and noticed Jack had drawn level with Hawkins. Jack Hawkins is Tom's dad and was a very good player at Geelong in his own right. Probably just a mind muddle. BT's nearly 60.

Jack's footy smarts must surely rank up there with the best. I can't think of too many key forwards that have had the bag of tricks that Jack has. Love the fact that even at this late stage of his career he is still launching himself at the ball. Must have a high level of confidence in his body. Can't see why he wont be an effective contributor next year.

I'm intrigued by the lack of 300 gamers Richmond has.
I put together a list of the league's 300 game players in the order that they played their 300th game.

Jack Dyer played his 300th game in 1949, was our first and was second over all.
Bartlett, 1979, 2nd and 8th.
Bourke, 1981, 3rd and 11th.
40 years later ...
Riewoldt, 2021, 4th and 93rd !!!
Been a few over the years who got awful close, Skinny, Weiner, Cho, Knighter n Flea. Then there's always Clokey who played for us and Scumwood, then came back to us and played well over 300. Got Shedda, Cotch n Dusty within striking range at the moment so hoping we can add a few more milestones over the next couple of seasons.

The article in today’s age having Josh Kennedy as the second best KPF behind Buddy recruited since 2004.

Has listed Jack as 4th best behind Buddy (correctly), Kennedy (wrong), Hawkins (definitely wrong) then Jack.

Jack is a year younger than Kennedy, recruited a year later yet has played more games (26), kicked more goals (25) and won more premierships, they kick on average the same number of goals per game (2.5 to 2.4 for Jack) - yet Kennedys claim to fame is kicking 3 premiership goals against the Pies (hmm how many Premiership goals has Jack kicked - I recall he got a bag in one flag didn’t he) - just another example of underrating a current tiger great.

Jack and Hawkins recruited the same year, played virtually the same number of games (Jack has played 6 more yet Jack has kicked 64 more goals) yet, yet, yet they reckon Hawkins is the better player…. wtf

Can’t they see what they write is sometimes just bs.

Carey listed his top 10 forwards since 2000 on Thursday.

10 Fevola
9 Hawkins
8 Lloyd
7 J.Riewoldt
6 Richardson
5 Tredrea
4 Pavlich
3 Brown
2 N.Riewoldt
1 Franklin

I thought Kennedy was stiff. I would have him ahead of Fevola and Hawkins and on a par with Jack.

by my count he is the 4th player in VFL/AFL history with 300games, 700 goals and 3 flags.

Tredders at 5?

He was pretty damn good, but didn't think he was that good. Maybe I'm biased but I'd have had him a bit lower

Was the best forward in the game for a period but outside those five years 22-26, didn't reach the same standard. Down a spot or two for mine. Pavlich was as good a pure footballer as any of them but I don't think he held the same menace as a forward as most of the others.

Lloyd probably a bit stiff but had to be dragged kicking and screaming out of the goal square late in his career. Carey put a lot of emphasis on players being rounded (hence Kennedy being left out) and no doubt marked him down for this.

Yeah, going senile the old Bristle.
Was referring to Tom Hawkins.
Then referred to our Jack as Jack Hawkins (Tom's Dad!)
Nuffie.

Don’t forget he said our lead at 3rd Q was elventeenth

Yeah that was funny as well.
I reckon he forgot Motorbike Cameron's last goal of the quarter.
Prior to the goal we were 17 points up.
His wires got crossed and it came out "eleventeenth".

That Daisy never shuts up either.
She could speak under water with a mouth full of marbles as Louie the lip used to say!
Found myself shouting at the TV begging for her to stop talking.

Yeah I'm guessing it was probably a Freudian slip/possible senility. Both were/are referred to as "Jumping Jack" so its possible this association had part to do with the mix-up

Interesting to look at Jack's career in two-year chunks and where he ranks for goals kicked.

2007-08 117th (eq)
2008-09 44th
2009-10 7th
2010-11 2nd
2011-12 3rd
2012-13 3rd
2013-14 4th
2014-15 4th
2015-16 9th
2016-17 9th
2017-18 2nd (eq)
2018-19 5th
2019-20 15th (eq)
2020-21 2nd

We can all see Jack's physical powers waning but on raw figures alone, retirement talk seems crazy.

What would the ranking be on goal average (say min of 35 goals) ?
there seems to be a lot of key forwards down this year.
