Jackson-Hartigan

If he's such a hidden gun,why hasn't he dominated at Coburg-With 25 lace out passes per game. It's not like a half back/midfielder requires others around him to shine for him to play well,as a player in the full forward line does.

Foley and Tuck before him were good players at VFL level, so once they finally made it to AFL level they shone.Hartigan (and Jackson haven't done that.)And when they have been included in the seniors anyway, have frequently turned the ball over through lack of skill or poor decision making.

To say we've haven't seen him is crazy. He's been on the list for 3 years.Being able to break a tackle or lay a good bump is not enough in modern football.Guys like Flemming and Fletcher could do that.

Look,if he's had some sudden turn around over the off season and really is quality and shows it over the next few weeks.I'll happily come back and say he should be getting a game.

Personally when I go and watch Coburg the next few weeks i 'll be concentrating more on guys like Meyer,Casserly Connors, Edwards .All those guys have the basic required skill sets and just need time and strength.I don't believe Hartigan and Jackson do.

I would say he's arguably already shown he can play at AFL level and that his confidence was effected when he was harshly returned to the VFL. By all accounts he was in line for a return before unfortunately breaking his foot. He had some very good games for us in the early rounds last year.

I'd like to see him played as a small back and see Raines rotated from defence through the middle.

Harts is worth another shot IMHO but if he comes up short I'll have no argument about moving him on at seasons end. 8)

Disagree entirely Captain. Fleming is one of my most despised ever because of his crap disposal.
Hartigan is no where near that and I'll say again questions over his disposal are grossly exaggerated.

Harts is one of the few players in our side who'll have a genuine go and attempt to break the lines. That's why he is prone to the odd clanger however when he's on song he also makes things happen to the betterment of our team.
Sure he's a bit of a risk taker but why are we attempting to discourage that when we see the type of conservative crap that lost us the game in third quarter on Sunday?
I'll reiterate that there are senior players in our side currently who have worse foot skills than Harts. Far worse.
Statistically his error rates are a lot lower than many players who are considered better than him in the skills department. Biggest myth going IMO.

Jackson on the other hand I don't rate at all.
True he doesnt shirk an issue however with each player of his ilk being drafted over the past 3 yrs all have one thing in common that Hartigan doesnt process.Foot skills.Very important as part of TW,s game plan.As these kids develop Hartigan and jackson move down the ladder[along with a few current senior players].On past history he,s up against it.

Some of you fellas amaze me at times. You spend post after post lamenting that we have too many underskilled players but then when presented with another underskilled player not getting a game you demand that he be included in the starting 22,just because he's young and has a bit of a go.

Yep. Your constant critisism of Hartigan while applauding the likes of Tambling and other higher rated draft picks is amazing. Who could forget your harping on about Raines in the same fashion two years ago.

Steady on old chap.I suggested Tambling could benefit from some time in the magoos not 24 hours ago.

He hasn't had much of a chance though has he evo? I reckon he needs to be given a few games in a row this year to see what he can do.
How about he dominate at Coburg level, with quality football(the way Foley had to)-Then if he proves he can do a better job than say a Tivendale(or whoever) then he's included.

Tambling has never dominated a Coburg game. In fact he's never played well for Coburg.

My point is there are double standards when it comes to Hartigan and I feel he's been harshly done by. He actually played quite well for Coburg last year when he came back from an injury and really dominated in the game where he broke his foot.

Happy to agree with you that Tambling has had an easy run, Harry.

lol.

How many games has Tambling even played for Coburg given he played all last year in the seniors and 12 games in his first year after battling injuries?

Not sure. 1 or 2? CC might know.

OK, sorry it's not a real suprise that he's never dominated a game for them, given that the games he did play there were either his first after being drafted or before a return from injury?

I think Harts has more of an upside than Jackson, he loves to run the lines and can play back or fwd, id like to see him given more of a go.
Last year against bummers at the G he had a really good game and was banished the week after, work that out!

I do agree with some that Blingers does tend to get a bit of favoritism, i am a bling fan but if a player in the McGoos is playing well he should be given every opportunity to continue that in the 1’s.

Its simple. If these guys are good enough and want it bad enough its up to them to stand up and make it theirs. Forget this hard done by or someones love child conspiracy theories.

They still have their chances. Step up and make a spot your own.

If players are going to continually chip it around against the "team rules" then let those players make room for people like Hartigan who will take a chance and run the ball hard.

Tambling played 1 game for Coburg in 2006 and 4 in 2005.

I think you will find Bling played a praccy game for Coburg the other week and dominated.

When has Jacko or Harts ever dominated a Coburg games?!

Gus you are a breath of fresh air. Some very respectable Prenders whining piteously about how hard done by Hartigan is and how much the nasty coach has affected poor little snookums by his decision. Sorry but is this elite football or what. Look, champions react with determination to being dropped. I have more respect for Hartigan than to think that he has dropped his bundle for being dropped.

I am sorry, if Hartigan can do well at Coburg then he will be promoted, if not he won't. It doesn't get much simpler really. And that is a reality for over half of all AFL lists - play well in the seconds or...

LMAO. Fair enough Brett I take on board what you and gus are saying.
Hopefully Harts can force his way back into the team despite Terry's obvious deep hate for him. ;)
