Re: Jake King (Merged)

Push Up is on Before the Game now.

I'll be wondering how many umpire questions are raised.

Re: Jake King (Merged)

Push Up was brilliant. Now to business.

I've posted I dunno 14000 times on this site. I whinged about umpires once. They are to be played. (All bad umpiring calls are skill errors.)

Jake King is umpired under a different set of rules.

It was Jake who said that, wasn't it?

Was pushed to the ground after taking a chest mark at half forward, no 50. I'm convinced he really is governed by a different set of rules.

Who else could get suspended after the MRP's gone home for the night?

Leysy never complains about the umpiring, least not after the game.

But what Pushup cops is quite amazing, where he ran back with the flight & took all ball no man yet had a free was staggering.

He definately gets umpired on rep more than any other.

The bloke gets robbed every week. It's the most galling DeMegalomaniac hypocrisy ever, (And there are plenty of competitors there.)

I said the same thing today. If Jake's in a contest and touches his opponent, it's a free to his opponent, no matter if his eyes were on the ball and the contact was incidental. He gets penalised for in the back but never gets one. He takes marks and they're not paid. It's a joke.

Re: Jake King (Merged)

He was excellent on 'Before the Game' and represented the club and himself well.

Jake is also crucified by the umpires. Just a joke. Last night exemplified it - not being paid a clear mark at half forward, being tripped inside 50 and the ridiculous spoiling free kick paid on the city wing. The club should formally complain to the AFL and get it on the record.

Watching the replay I thought all of them were borderline. Thing is, they all went against him.

yeah, that's the rub of it. Geish and the Gang can claim most of the decisions are 50/50. The problem is the Umps will never give a 50/50 call his way.

Yeah he spoke well about the club, the players and himself. He was obviously pressured a bit with umpiring questions and at least made a statement that umpires don't like him. The trip on Milne will be looked at for sure.

agree. as with most contentious umpiring decisions they can be argued to be right, but as you say they very often go against Jake King. very often.

If that mark was borderline then they better stop awarding marks.

Anyone any good at compiling video footage? Put all this years bad umpire calls against Jake into a YouTube clip. I'm sure PRE can make sure it gets a million hits. Those kind of numbers would make the AFL take notice.

greAT IDEA....wish i knew how to do it....i hope like hell some one does....its just beyond ridiculous..the guy is persecuted

nevertheless..he was brilliant tonight..great game

In every game

There's a case to be made that he controlled it on the first grab, but not while he juggled it.

Would be thrown out of court pretty quickly.

Re: Jake King (Merged)

I wonder if Hardwick could make a formal complaint on King's behalf, because seriously the guy is persecuted by the umpires. You could see them baiting him on Before the Game last night, to his credit he handled it pretty well, and didn't say anything that would get him a please explain.

Will Jake cop a week or two

Just been watching the footy show on Win/Nine. The panel discussed various possible infringements in all games and their opinion was that Jake tripped Milne and could be up for the MRP. Remember no free was paid. If he is cited, will he again be the whipping boy?
