Based on the video evidence available, an investigation by the MRP and a medical report from the Brisbane Lions, the incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). He has an existing poor record of four matches suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 40 per cent to 175 demerit points. Contact between the Brisbane Lions’ Jack Redden and Richmond’s Shane Edwards from the third quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. Contact was made to the upper arm and chest area, while the force was deemed below that required to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.
