Re: Jake King (Merged)

Jake will probably cop a fine for the wrestle at the start of the game, if he gets any weeks the MRP is a joke

On a side note though, if he does cop a fine will Jack Rewoldt open up his wallet this time after he squibbed it last time (love how the players dobbed him in for that!)

Re: Jake King (Merged)

That's a shame, he's just the type of player that the Melbourne Butter Boys would struggle with.

yep and sounds like the Edwards hit behind play wasn't looked at!

what have we done to the MRP??

seems like everytime a tiger player goes up he is suspended and everytime one of our players gets hit it's not looked at

What happened to that? A guy gets a punch to the guts, falls over and what? Nothing! MRP must be full of RFC haters. Is Roo's and blight on the panel??

MRP Dictionary:-

prov·o·ca·tion   /ˌprɒvəˈkeɪʃən/
[prov-uh-key-shuhn]
–noun

1. the act of provoking.
2. something that an AFL team called the Richmond Tigers do which incites, instigates, angers, or irritates the AFL Match Review Panel.

Couldn't agree more ............ this really hurts our forward pressure and chance this weekend.

This certainly helps the Dee's and their bruise free footy rep.

HS match report contained the phrase "serial pest Jake King". Very hard to shake a reputation.

Push Up should be suing the Herald Scum for libel with that remark.

Re: Jake King (Merged)

Jake King, Richmond, has been charged with a Level Two striking offence against Ash McGrath, Brisbane Lions, during the first quarter of the Round 13 match between Richmond and the Brisbane Lions, played at the Gabba on Saturday June 18, 2011.

In summary, due to a previous poor record, his one-match sanction must remain at one-match, even with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available, an investigation by the MRP and a medical report from the Brisbane Lions, the incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has an existing poor record of four matches suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 40 per cent to 175 demerit points. He also has 9.35 demerit points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 184.35 points and a one-match sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 138.26 points and a one-match sanction.

Contact between the Brisbane Lions’ Jack Redden and Richmond’s Shane Edwards from the third quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. Contact was made to the upper arm and chest area, while the force was deemed below that required to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.

4 matches in the last 3 years.....YEARS not months!!! is called a 'poor' record??

This assessment is more complex and twisted than the Australian Taxation system.

that old chestnut, same thing for McGuanes groin shot, yet Stokes gets a week for a punch to Kosi's groin :headscratch :duh

time for ALL clubs to stand up and ask for a please explain on the ridiculous inconsistencies with MRP findings

Re: Jake King (Merged)

Annoying because the MRP are not consistent in their verdicts. I saw Kosi got two weeks for a tackle and I think it was Corey who got off for a fairly brutal effort. I thought Coreys was the more vicious and likely to maim but apparently not. And yes the fact that they didn't even investigate the Edwards incident is a joke. If they are so serious about stamping out cheap shots than why wasn't this looked at.
King is a big loss for us this week.
