Jake King

Re: Jake King (Merged)

The AFL has given Jake King and extra 24hrs to decide weather to contest the charge or not..Interesting.

Re: Jake King (Merged)

Whens the last time we have contested and won, let alone even contest it.

most times we just seem to accept it.

Re: Jake King (Merged)

CLub has asked for 24 more hours before either accepting or challenging the decision. Come on boys, nothing to lose, fight it!

Re: Jake King (Merged)

Thought his disposal was poor on the weekend. Not sure if the stats convey this?

Re: Jake King (Merged)

watching the opening incident again, can't see where King hit McGrath. If anything it could have been Vickery who gave him a blood lip. Nothing in it in any case. I cut my lip eating a sandwich.

Those overbites are a beeitch, aren't they Harry !........... hope your healing up all the same.

So whats the word on this "24 hr extension" the Club has requested and been given by the AFL ?

Anyone have a clue as to why this has come about and what could possibly be behind the thinking ?

Also, when was the last time anyone challenged and actually got off a charge ?

What do you mean by that scooper?

Sorry to jump in Scoop, but Rosy I believe Jake lost his 7 month nephew last week which was why everyone wore black arm bands against BrisVegas. The family is understandably pretty grief stricken at present.

Re: Jake King (Merged)

Thanks Th. Very sad news. Condolences to Jakey and his family.

Ok I know it's in the heat of the battle and everything, but knowing what he did, why the hell is Jack screaming abuse at Jake for not passing and then doing the same thing himself.
Come on guys......BIG PICTURE!!!!!!!

That's the way I saw it too. Posted it a bit further back. I thought Vickery got McGrath with a couple of jumper punches but others say it was clearly King.

Other's have disagreed and said it was clearly Jake so maybe we're looking at different footage?

Is it now too late in the week for the MRP to charge Vickery if the club went with this defence?

Re: Jake King (Merged)

geez tragic and sad to lose someone so young. our family lost a 6mth old niece many many years ago and you cant begin to imagine the impact of the loss on the entire family.

I don't agree. compassion and sympathy are nice human emotions and a huge part of footy clubs. that's why our club and his team mates wore black arm bands but as a professional, when he takes the field he's as accountable as anyone.
