TF - I think you and some of us are talking about two different things. One in which the club finds a suitable trade for him and the second is the jumper punch he delivered last night.

No no no no no ..... your totally overestimating his willingness with a false sense of capabilities now ..... isn't a clearance type whatsoever even though he loves to go hard, 2 totally different things, leave him right where he is, thats his caper and best use to the team these days.

Have you watched him one on one this year? Rarely beaten in a contest. You underrate his skills IMO. Would not mind seeing him get a run on the ball to see if he can offer something there. The rest of the year is for experimenting.

Ofcourse I have and have been rapt with his reincarnation as a pressuring goalsneak defensive forward type, but if you think he could have the same effect as an on-baller then you have quickly forgotten about his past when he was far more a liability by playing like a Bull in a china shop and costing the team many possesions through turnovers in the worst possible field position also.

I hear what your saying as in whats to lose, but he's not a mid, tenacity and endevour wont make up for a lack of natural talent and an on-baller is NOT his caper, leave him up forward where has has done an exceptional job.

I agree, Kingy has done a good job as a small forward applying defensive pressure on the opposition. But the past has shown he is neither a midfielder, a decent run with player, or a small defender.

Jake is not one of our problems right now, we have plenty of others to address.

No doubt we have more pressing issues. However, while we have bigger problems than say Kingy, martin and Riewoldt as just 3 examples, the fact they aren't playing as well as earlier in the season is impacting the side.

I'm open to anything that will fix the midfield but do you seriously think King will help in the heavy traffic jimbob?
No, only that he can't be worse so on that basis alone give him a go. King is good in one on one's at least, perhaps that can transcribe when involved in a four on four.

Re: Jake King (Merged)

Been okay this year but has done nothing for close to 5-6 weeks (2 goals in last 5 games). Looks like the opposition has worked his game out and has no plan B as he's pretty limited.

Will stick around most likely but we need to find some better quality small forwards.

If everyone played with his intensity we would be winning games. Couldnt fault him this year, been terrific.

I've been a King supporter but his influence has waned noticeably, beginning with the Sydney game. Noticed him deep in defence at one stage today.

Never was going to part of a successful side,
He had alot of mates White, Jackson and Edwards

Re: Jake King (Merged)

He is one of a large number of players whose output has dropped since the first Essendon game.....hence, we are playing like *smile*.

We put a lot of faith in false dawns like Jake but only because when you've been marooned on a baron island for 29 years even a passing seagull looks like a savior

Amen. We need quality upgrades in a number of positions, small defender being another.
