Why is no-one considering Knighter? He is out of contrat at the end of the year IIRC? He certainly has the bombers playing good footy with what I consider an average list (certainly no better than ours).

Hey if we had a chance I'd go for him.

Heard on the weekend there are strong whispers going around that James Hird is interested in coaching next year.

What with the rookie coaching sucess of Voss this year, I wonder if Hird would be worth going for?

If nothing else would make the next Rich v Ess game a little more interesting :spin

yeah, i hird that too, probably from the same sauce that also is declaring that Terry Wallace will coach Geelong in 2010 :hihi :cutelaugh : ;D

Hird ticks a lot of boxes, not sure if he would be as outstanding a coaching candidate as Buckely and Voss though. Not a judgement based on his playing career or intelligence which are both outstanding, more his personality type.

Elaborate a bit more DD. What puts Hird behind Bucks & Voss in the personality stakes? Is it maybe the later are more extraverted and less shy or maybe Hird shows less arrogance?

That would not worry me at all, in fact i think whilst he might not seem arrogant he has a quiet confidence about him and like the other two would get respect immediately from a playing group. Hird behind the other two - i dont think so. If or when he decides to put his hand up there would be clubs lining up to get him. In fact imo opinion i would have him on a equal with Voss and above Buckley.

Hird is too smart to walk into the death trap which is the coaching position at the RFC!
