Jarrod Silvester

Another retraction.

Silvester (and Cartedge) are not good enough and will never be good enough at AFL level.

They should not be elevated in place of Cotchin.

project player?? LMAO

Like Krakuor? Waste another 5 years on some bloke in the hope he may turn out just alright... He is 22 isn't he??

LMAO. Recruit GOOD FOOTBALLERS, not blokes who might be

He is not even on the senior list FFS, Silvestor is a good VFL full back, I think the pick is a good one - bit speculative but could surprise.

i am not RIchmond's paid recruiting officer, nor have I had 10 years to get it right as they have - MAKE THAT 20 years.

I can guarantee you one thing, it would not have been him...

So essentially, you've got nothing. Figured as much. ::)

He's on the rookie list, for crying out loud. He is, as lamb says, a speculative pick that could go either way. Which is what the rookie list is for. You sound like you expect him to be an instant champion in his first AFL game...

He showed more contest than some .......... big body and a willingness to put himself in possession. He knows he's under scrutiny and will be better for his 1st run .............. so far I've more time for Silvestor than a list of seniors, etc.

Well, he's not a ready made player, pturls. So let's call him a project player. A rookie.

Not many Tigers are laughing tonight. You've done well to keep your sense of humour.

BTW what is Graham Polack? Is he a ready made player? That'd be where you might have a giggle.

BINGO. This has been Richmond's problem for way too long; recruiting very mediocre players; it has to stop. No more "let's recruit player x because he has ONE good attribute", (but then turning a blind-eye to the other major deficiencies that player has) etc... If Silvester is elevated, it will confirm my biggest fear deep down in my heart that we aren't going anywhere for a long long time. :'( Damn we are pathetic.

GO TIGES!!!

I don't usually bag players after just one game, but Sylvester was woeful. I didn't think he was that good at VFL level, and he just doesn't look up to it i'm afraid. Glad he's on the rookie list and hopefully that's where he stays.

First game and played on a big, strong and very good player with the ball coming in under little pressure. Too early to write off

Looked out his depth. By a fair margin.

Longshot at best.

Most key position backs look out of the depth when they start. Some even when they are 5 years into their career (see Watt from the Kangas).

got ripped on the lead by a 32 yr old gehrig who just started training over a month ago, although if you watched any vfl last year you would of already known he has no pace

silvester like cartledge is insurance only so dont go expecting long term kp answers from him

lets pray thursty comes back asap and stays fit

A 23yo VFL standard player without the speed or talent to be playing AFL.

The selection of all of our rookies with the exception of Collard, who might be a player, was a typically ill thought out effort by Wallace and Miller.

Why would a team with our record be looking to old hacks for insurance? Why waste time with other teams rejects or players whom we have had a good look at and know its a no.

Agree. Insurance players are for top 4 teams. That, we are not. Better off going for young blokes rather that VFL Joe averages or Essendon rejects

Were there any key backs available after Zomer was taken? We reportedly did want Zomer, Sylvestor was the backup.
