Jayden Post

He is going to be a good player. Leave him in the seniors at CHB, tell him hes not going to get dropped and let him get his confidence. Ala Alex rance last year.

I agree with most, that he was dropped too early, but you can't just tell a player he wont be dropped. If he stung 4-5 shocking games in a row in the seniors, his confidence would be shot. I'd much rather he got some form in the seconds.

If he plays 4 or 5 fair enough drop him. Not 1 though. He will gain confidence against melb if he gets a chance

Disagree wholeheartedly. I'm all for giving him a good run of 5 or 6 games to prove himself but only after he dominates at Coburg for a few weeks. From a team culture/confidence perspective, promoting a player after 1 game is just as bad as dropping him after 1 game. The only difference being that his form in round 1 was horrible and he does not have any credits in the bank. Post, more than most, needs to earn his place.

Let's not forget he has below average for most of last year and only started to show some potential towards the end of the season.

Post has never reached a level that would make him a regular senior player. He's still got a fair way to go. I hope he makes it but I'm starting to doubt he will.

So why drop him after 1 game when a majority of our players were below form? Same goes for Addam.

NFI.

But as a guiess maybe he didn't even try to execute and follow the game plan, work on the key areas he was asked too and showed no ticker.

Maybe the others at least tried to do what they were instructed to do but came up short.

Exactly right Colonel. Some Bummer talls went through the same phase about 10 or so years ago.

Post has the ability and we should not waste it in the 2nds.

Has ability to mark the ball in the lower leagues. His speed and decision making arent great at those levels either. I hope he makes it, he is a good young man that lacks confidence mainly.

Won't get it at Coburg but I hope I'm wrong.

Might be a simple case of not being able to cope with the pressure of AFL football.

That's a general problem for any player after just 20 games Skipper. Big Kel had this problem also a few years ago. As most have said, I sometimes wonder what benefit this Coburg team is when it comes to player development for Richmond.

i dont get it. he played terrible, he gets dropped. whats the big deal. thats life

thats the culture we need at this club. perform well consistently or play in the twos. pity we cant drop half a dozen other players as well.

You keep saying this but there are countless players at the level who weren't deemed good enough to get 1 game of senior football, let alone 20.

So, Post doesn't deserve 1 game at all then?

I don,t think Coburg is the problem.Comes back to his state of mind. Why was he given all pre-season to play at CHB and then come rnd 1 put in such an insipid display.Surely he showed enough during the pre-season for Dimma to give him a go rnd 1.

But that's the problem, it's not consistent. Do we see Edwards, Jackson, Vickery get dropped?

Not all bad performances are equal.

If Post failed to follow the game plan then he'll be marked harder than those that at least tried to execute it but failed.

Much like Morton. He kept being dropped because he wouldn't follow instructions. I suspect post is in the same category.
